Truck crashes into market in South Korea, at least 20 people injured

(CLO) A truck crashed into a market in Bucheon, South Korea on November 13, injuring at least 20 people, including two who were unconscious due to cardiac arrest.

The incident happened at a market in Bucheon, about 20 kilometers west of the capital Seoul, a fire official said in a televised news conference.

The car drove through the market for 150 meters before coming to a stop.

The official said the car appeared to have backed up 28 meters before accelerating into the outdoor market. The driver blamed sudden acceleration for the incident.

A police official at the press conference said the driver was not in critical condition and had tested negative for alcohol. The driver was not drunk at the time of the incident.

South Korean authorities said they will continue to investigate to determine the exact cause of the accident.
