Not only entertainment products, movies and reality TV shows today are becoming a "bridge" bringing tourists closer to the lands of Vietnam. The spread of realistic, emotional films has contributed to raising the level of domestic tourism , turning ordinary places into meeting places for those who love experiences.
Among them, the reality TV show Haha Family and recent movies have sparked the trend of location-based tourism. In Ban Lien ( Lao Cai ), the media wave from Haha Family has made this place the most mentioned name in the local travel-loving community.
Ms. Vang Thi Thong, owner of a homestay in Ban Lien, shared that after only a few episodes, the booking schedule was full for many months: "Not only my homestay, but also other households doing community tourism are welcoming more guests, supporting and learning together to improve the quality of the experience."
Ms. Thong's homestay is a traditional stilt house renovated 4 years ago, with both communal and private rooms, overlooking terraced fields. Visitors here can fully experience the highland lifestyle: plowing, planting rice, picking wild vegetables, pounding rice, harvesting tea, feeding buffaloes... At the same time, they can enjoy mountain cuisine such as five-color sticky rice, grilled stream fish, and free-range chicken. These experiences are becoming the most sought-after "specialties" in Ban Lien.
Travel blogger Toan Di Dau shared that after watching the program, he wanted to personally plant rice with ethnic people, eat highland meals and sleep in simple stilt houses - all of which seemed to come from warm scenes and he set out to do it. The clip he shared online quickly went viral , spreading to many people who love experiential travel.
Sa Huynh (Quang Ngai) also suddenly attracted tourists when it appeared in a touching scene about the salt making profession. The inspirational character - 9X female CEO Pham Hong Tham made viewers pay attention to Vietnamese salt in a very different way. Immediately after the broadcast, the keywords "Sahu salt flower" and "Sahu salt" simultaneously entered the top search results on e-commerce platforms.
The Haha Family 's journey to Giong Trom (Vinh Long) with footage recording the simple life of Uncle and Aunt Chin Cuong's family - where every morning is an early market, every noon is coconut picking, every afternoon is honey making... has turned the daily experience into a tour. Many tourists from Ho Chi Minh City and the North flock here just to slow down, to climb coconut trees, row a boat or eat a rustic meal like on the program.
Most recently, the film Lat mat 8 – Vong tay nang by director Ly Hai with the main setting at Bau Trang (Lam Dong) has contributed to creating a tourism effect. Bau Trang with immense white sand dunes, calm lakes and sparkling sunlight has become a beautiful setting that has caused the number of visitors to increase dramatically.

Many tourists come to experience the local space that has appeared in Vietnamese cinema.
Meanwhile, director Victor Vu continues to demonstrate the power of tourism through cinema when exploiting a series of famous landmarks of Tuyen Quang and Cao Bang (Ban Cai Lake, Khuoi Nhi waterfall, Mat Than mountain, Vinh Quy hill, Khuoi Ky village, Co Muong village). The male director shared that the film crew spent up to 6 months just to find the setting, with the goal of preserving the natural beauty and minimizing special effects.
Whether it's a reality show or a movie, what makes audiences love it and pack their bags are the simple values, where people, nature and culture blend together in the most intimate way.
