From early morning, the grounds of the Tam Hop Border Guard Post were filled with laughter and conversation. Steaming pots of banh chung (traditional Vietnamese rice cakes) emitted the fragrant aroma of fresh glutinous rice, mung beans, and dong leaves, encapsulating the spirit of the traditional Tet holiday. The banh chung-making festival is not only an opportunity for border guards and local people to reminisce about the beauty of national culture, but also a space for bonding, love, and sharing between the military and civilians in the border region.
Alongside this, the "zero-cost" stalls were meticulously set up, fully stocked with essential necessities for Tet such as rice, instant noodles, cooking oil, warm clothes, etc.
Medical teams organized health screenings, consultations, and provided free medicine to the people, especially the elderly and those from disadvantaged households.

During the program, the Organizing Committee presented over 600 Tet gifts to poor households, near-poor households, influential people in the community, and students participating in the "Helping Children Go to School" program, with a total value of over 250 million VND.
Speaking at the event, Lieutenant Colonel Truong Tan Bien, Political Officer of Tam Hop Border Guard Station, shared: “The 'Spring Border Guard' program, warming the hearts of the local people, is not only about taking care of the people during Tet (Lunar New Year), but also demonstrates the responsibility and affection of border guard officers and soldiers towards the people in the border area. We hope that each small gift will contribute to adding warmth and joy so that the people can have a more fulfilling and peaceful Tet.”

Deeply moved upon receiving Tet gifts, Mrs. Vieng Thi Chin, a poor household in Phong village, Tam Thai commune, said: “My family still faces many difficulties, and I am very touched by the care and Tet gifts from the border guards and the local authorities. Thanks to the soldiers, this year's Tet is much warmer.”
Amidst the spreading spring colors across the highland villages, the "Spring Border Guard Program: Warming the Hearts of the People" has truly become a bridge of love, contributing to the strengthening of the bond between the military and the people, making the spring season in the border region even more complete and meaningful.
