Xuan Son announced good news on the day he returned to the Vietnamese national team.

On November 11, the Vietnamese team gathered in Viet Tri ( Phu Tho ), preparing for the match against Laos in the second leg of Group F, the final qualifying round of the 2027 Asian Cup. The focus of this gathering was the return of striker Nguyen Xuan Son.

Previously, the Nam Dinh FC striker suffered a broken leg at the AFF Cup 2024, causing him to miss nearly a year. Returning to the national team brought many special emotions to the Brazilian striker.

“This is a special day because I returned to the Vietnam national team after 11 months of absence. I am very happy because I have gone through a very long time due to injury. My family has supported me a lot,” Xuan Son shared his feelings.

“Coach Kim Sang Sik has created conditions and welcomed me back to the team this time. As for me personally, I always help the team and contribute to the Vietnamese flag. It is a great honor,” Xuan Son affirmed.

Xuan Son said that this return feels like the first time wearing the Vietnamese national team jersey. His teammates welcomed him back, tried to practice and live together like a family.

“I told coach Kim Sang Sik and my teammates to thank everyone for waiting. Now I am ready for training sessions and possibly matches. I am 100% recovered and capable of playing a full match without fear of risk,” Xuan Son announced the good news about his health.

Regarding the opportunity to play in the upcoming match against Laos, Xuan Son shared: “Right now, I am ready to bring the best performance. I am trying very hard to regain my form. I do not know how likely I am to play in the match against Laos, because it depends on the decision of coach Kim Sang Sik. But I am always ready to play the whole match, not only the match against Laos but also other matches.”

The striker born in 1997 affirmed that he is ready to compete and enjoy the joy of being on the field and scoring goals for the Vietnamese team.

“If I get to play in the match against Laos, I will enjoy it. I will try to score or assist, but the most important thing is that the Vietnamese team wins. I love the Vietnamese team shirt, I love everyone,” Xuan Son concluded.

The Vietnamese team had 4 training sessions in Viet Tri, Phu Tho. According to the plan, on November 15, Xuan Son and his teammates went to Laos to prepare for the match against the home team at 7:00 p.m. on November 19.
