However, a ligament injury in the second leg of the final match of the ASEAN Cup 2024 kept Xuan Son away from the field for more than 10 months. Due to the schedule of round 11 of V.League 2025/26, Xuan Son, Xuan Manh and the group of players from Hanoi, Nam Dinh , and CAHN had to wait until yesterday morning (November 11) to join the team and were allowed by coach Kim Sang-sik to practice recovery at the hotel. However, during yesterday's practice session, goalkeeper Dang Van Lam unfortunately suffered an injury.

According to Xuan Manh, apart from Van Lam, the whole team is in the best shape and spirit: “Yesterday, I and some players gathered and practiced recovery at the hotel, today we started practicing with the team. Currently, the whole team is in stable health, everyone is practicing very hard to prepare for the upcoming match with Laos”.

Talking about the upcoming match, the player of Hanoi emphasized: "In the match with Laos as well as other opponents, the Vietnamese team always focuses on each match. We are determined to bring 3 points back from Laos."

According to the original schedule, the match was to take place at 7:00 p.m. on November 18. However, at the request of the Lao Football Federation, AFC agreed to postpone the match to 7:00 p.m. on November 19. Currently, in Group F, Vietnam has 9 points, ranked 2nd. Meanwhile, Laos has 3 points, ranked 3rd and has no chance of advancing.
