Now, as Tet (Lunar New Year) approaches, the village has donned a new look. The fields are green again, and the villages have regained their former peace. The people are joyful and hopeful for a prosperous and fulfilling new year!
Due to the impact of Typhoon No. 10, landslides rendered the house of Ms. Tran Thi Chi's family in Ban Pha village uninhabitable, forcing them to relocate. With 80 million VND in support from the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Lao Cai province and the joint efforts of the local government, departments, and organizations, Ms. Chi's family has been able to build a new, spacious house with an area of 85m².

In the days leading up to the Lunar New Year, in her newly completed house, Mrs. Chi was busy cleaning and arranging her belongings to prepare for her first Tet holiday in her new home. Mrs. Chi happily shared: "I am very grateful to the Party, the State, and all levels and departments of Viet Hong village and commune for their concern in relocating my family and providing financial support for building this house. This Tet, being able to live in my new home, I am very happy and feel secure in my work and stable in my life."

The rice fields that were buried under mud after the storm have now been reclaimed and restored. In the fields, farmers are diligently tending to their rice and other crops, determined not to leave any land fallow. Economic development models that were affected are also gradually being restored and developed stably, creating sustainable livelihoods for the people.

As one of the sturgeon farming households severely affected by the storm, Mr. Hoang Kim Binh from Na village said: "Typhoon No. 10 damaged the entire pipeline system and resulted in the loss of 20,000 sturgeon. Immediately after the storm, my family promptly repaired part of the water supply system, cleaned the water source, and replenished the fish fry to continue production. Currently, the batch of fish for the Tet market has reached over 10 tons, contributing to ensuring income and stabilizing the family's economy."

Overcoming difficulties following natural disasters, with the efforts of the entire political system and the people, by the end of 2025, Viet Hong commune had completed 17 out of 21 socio-economic development targets. Average income reached 62 million VND/person/year; the poverty rate decreased by 0.52%, and the near-poverty rate decreased by 0.22% compared to the previous year. This is an important foundation for the locality to continue successfully achieving its development goals in 2026.
According to Mr. Nguyen Tien Chien, Chairman of the People's Committee of Viet Hong commune, to achieve these results, immediately after the natural disaster, the Party Committee and the commune government focused on directing efforts to repair and stabilize housing for the people; at the same time, they promoted the restoration of production to create livelihoods and serve as a driving force to complete socio-economic development targets.

Entering 2026, Viet Hong commune aims to raise the average per capita income to 62.5 million VND/year. The focus will be on continuing to promote production linkage models along the value chain associated with key products, forming sustainable production areas that yield high economic efficiency; simultaneously, launching emulation movements in labor and production, building a better life for residents, and ensuring political security and social order in the area.
Along with the task of economic development, with the motto "leaving no one behind," during the Lunar New Year of the Horse 2026, the Party Committee and the commune government directed departments, agencies, and mass organizations to mobilize and call for contributions from officials, civil servants, and philanthropists to support the poor, policy beneficiary families, people with meritorious services to the revolution, and social welfare recipients, ensuring that all citizens can celebrate a warm and meaningful Tet holiday.
The new spring is arriving in every home, every road, every village of Viet Hong - a spring of rebirth after the storms and floods, of hope rekindled by concrete actions and the unity of the government and the people. The achievements in 2025 are the foundation for Viet Hong to enter the new year with renewed vigor, new confidence, and aspirations for a more peaceful, prosperous, and fulfilling year.
