
Accordingly, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment has directed national reserve units to issue for the first time (free of charge) 129.09 tons of rice seeds and 3 tons of corn seeds from the national reserve to Hue city to overcome the damage caused by storm No. 12, with a total value of nearly 2,578 billion VND.
According to reports from the People's Committee of Hue City, recent heavy rains and floods on rivers have damaged many crop production areas, specifically: corn and various vegetables over 600 hectares (over 70% of the area damaged); 124,000 pots of flowers and ornamental plants of all kinds; 255 hectares of fruit trees were affected; 326 tons of rice seeds were submerged.
In the face of the above situation, the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Hue City has sent a document requesting the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment to provide support for seeds to restore crop production after natural disasters. In the immediate future, 3 tons of LVN10 corn seeds will be provided to support the highlands and 130 tons of rice seeds (Khang Dan 18, HN6, HT1...) to sow in the Winter-Spring crop of 2025-2026. At the same time, the city proposed to support 2 tons of vegetable seeds of various kinds (lettuce, cabbage...), 2 tons of HN88 glutinous corn seeds in mid-January 2026.
