Import and export of goods in 11 months of 2025 increased by 17.2%

(PLVN) - The total value of import and export of goods in the first 11 months of 2025 reached 839.78 billion USD (up 17.2%, equivalent to an increase of 123.41 billion USD over the same period last year).

On December 9, the Customs Department informed about the unit's work situation in November 2025. Accordingly, the total value of import and export of goods in November 2025 reached 77.09 billion USD, down 5.4% (equivalent to a decrease of 4.4 billion USD) compared to the previous month. Of which, the export value reached 39.11 billion USD, down 7.0% (equivalent to a decrease of 2.94 billion USD) and the import value reached 37.98 billion USD, down 3.7% (equivalent to a decrease of 1.46 billion USD). Vietnam's trade balance of goods in November 2025 had a surplus of 1.13 billion USD, down 56.7% compared to the surplus of 2.6 billion USD of the previous month.

Cumulatively, the total value of import and export of goods in the 11 months of 2025 reached 839.78 billion USD (up 17.2%, equivalent to an increase of 123.41 billion USD over the same period last year). Of which, the export value reached 430.17 billion USD (up 16.1%, equivalent to an increase of 59.80 billion USD over the same period last year) and the import value reached 409.61 billion USD (up 18.4%, equivalent to an increase of 63.61 billion USD over the same period last year). Vietnam's trade balance of goods in the 11 months of 2025 had a surplus of 20.56 billion USD, down 15.6% compared to the surplus of 24.38 billion USD in the same period last year.

In the first 11 months of 2025, the total import-export value of foreign direct investment (FDI) enterprises reached 607.7 billion USD, up 25.5% (equivalent to an increase of 123.33 billion USD) over the same period last year. Of which, the total export value of this enterprise sector reached 326.49 billion USD, up 23.4% (equivalent to an increase of 61.88 billion USD) and the import value reached 281.21 billion USD, up 28% (equivalent to an increase of 61.45 billion USD).

State budget revenue from import-export activities in November 2025 reached VND 39,118 billion, down 9.6% compared to the previous month (equivalent to a decrease of VND 4,146 billion). Accumulated in the first 11 months of 2025, it reached VND 420,634 billion, equal to 102.3% of the assigned estimate, equal to 89.5% of the target, up 9% (equivalent to an increase of VND 34,607 billion) compared to the same period in 2024.

Regarding the results of arrests and handling of violations in the fight against smuggling and trade fraud from October 15 to November 14, 2025, the Customs authority discovered, arrested and handled 2,176 cases (an increase of 510 cases, equivalent to 30.6% over the same period last year); the value of infringing goods is estimated at VND 2,199 billion. State budget revenue: VND 238.4 billion. The Customs authority prosecuted 04 cases (an increase of 04 cases), transferred 15 cases to other agencies (a decrease of 01 case, equivalent to 6.25% over the same period last year).

Accumulated from December 15, 2024 to November 14, 2025, the Customs authority has detected, arrested and handled 17,297 cases, the value of infringing goods is estimated at VND 21,751 billion. State budget revenue reached: VND 948.73 billion. The Customs authority has prosecuted 20 cases and transferred 115 cases to other agencies.

As a result of the fight against drugs from October 15 to November 14, 2025, the Customs Department presided over and coordinated with the Police and Border Guard forces to detect and arrest: 13 cases/23 subjects, of which the Customs Department presided over 04 cases. The seized exhibits included: 86.97 kg of various drugs, specifically: 21.36 kg of heroin; 16.5 grams of cocaine; 29.2 kg of ketamine; 36.4 kg of synthetic drugs.

Accumulated from December 15, 2024 to November 14, 2025, the Customs authority has   presided over and coordinated with the police and border guards to detect and arrest 178 cases/236 subjects, of which the customs agency presided over 71 cases. The seized evidence was about 2.4 tons of various drugs, specifically: 402.49 grams of opium; 153 kg of marijuana; 88.6 kg of heroin; 1.87 kg of cocaine; 1,545 kg of ketamine; 402 kg and 1,903 synthetic drug pills; 223 kg and 60,000 other drug pills.
