- On the afternoon of November 14, in Hanoi, the Center for Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion of Lang Son province organized a program to promote cooperation in building and developing the UNESCO Lang Son Global Geopark.

The program was attended by experts from the UNESCO Global Geopark Network, the US National Cave Association, the Asian Tourism Development Institute, the Vietnam Community Tourism Association and representatives of strategic partners of the Lang Son UNESCO Global Geopark.

Lang Son UNESCO Global Geopark was officially recognized by UNESCO in April 2025 with an area of over 4,800 km². The park converges 38 typical heritage sites of geology, geomorphology, archaeology and culture, reflecting the 500 million year evolution journey of the Earth through a system of limestone mountains, ancient fossils, majestic caves and precious archaeological sites. This place is also a vibrant cultural space, preserving many traditional beauties of the ethnic groups of Lang Son such as: Then singing, Tinh lute, Long Tong festival, Mother worship... Being honored by UNESCO has opened up opportunities for Lang Son to develop geological tourism, eco-tourism and community tourism in a sustainable direction, promoting the image of the borderland rich in identity to domestic and international friends.

In the program, the Organizing Committee announced the map of Khuon Bong cave (Vu Le commune) and Nguom Mooc cave (Binh Gia commune); announced the Lang Son Geopark VTV8 Ultra Trail - Huu Lien 2025 Race , scheduled to be held on December 27 and 28 in 2 communes : Cai Kinh and Huu Lien .

Next, domestic and international experts discussed and shared many ideas and solutions on sustainable development, management of geopark models in the new situation, as well as experience products and souvenirs associated with geological heritage values; orientation of communication, promotion and landscape improvement at 38 tourist destinations in Lang Son UNESCO Global Geopark; discussed plans to organize the 2026 Winter Geopark International Festival with activities such as cave exploration, sport climbing, community tourism, etc.

In the program, the Lang Son UNESCO Global Geopark Management Office (Provincial Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion Center) and the following units: Vietnam Television Center for the Central Highlands (VTV8), Thanh An Media Joint Stock Company, Hanoi Diving Club signed a strategic partnership agreement on the field of communication in the Lang Son UNESCO Global Geopark . The signing not only helps to effectively exploit the geological, cultural and ecological values but also creates an open network of connections, bringing the image of Lang Son UNESCO Global Geopark further and further on the world tourism map.
