- On the afternoon of November 14th, in Hanoi, the Lang Son Provincial Center for Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion organized a program to promote cooperation in the construction and development of the UNESCO Lang Son Global Geopark.

The program was attended by experts from the UNESCO Global Geopark Network, the National Cave Association of the United States, the Asian Tourism Development Institute, the Vietnam Community Tourism Association, and representatives of strategic partners of the UNESCO Lang Son Global Geopark.

The UNESCO Global Geopark Lang Son was officially recognized by UNESCO in April 2025, covering an area of over 4,800 km². The park brings together 38 exemplary heritage sites related to geology, geomorphology, archaeology, and culture, reflecting the Earth's 500-million-year evolutionary journey through its limestone mountain system, ancient fossils, magnificent caves, and valuable archaeological sites. It is also a vibrant cultural space, preserving many traditional features of the ethnic groups of Lang Son, such as Then singing, the Tinh lute playing, the Long Tong festival, and the Mother Goddess worship. UNESCO's recognition has opened opportunities for Lang Son to develop geotourism, ecotourism, and community tourism in a sustainable manner, promoting the image of this border region rich in cultural identity to domestic and international friends.

During the program, the Organizing Committee announced the maps of Khuon Bong Cave (Vu Le commune) and Nguom Mooc Cave (Binh Gia commune); and announced the Lang Son Geopark VTV8 Ultra Trail - Huu Lien 2025 race , scheduled to be held on December 27th and 28th in two communes : Cai Kinh and Huu Lien .

Following this, domestic and international experts discussed and shared many ideas and solutions on sustainable development, geopark management in the new context, as well as experiential products and souvenirs associated with geological heritage values; communication and promotion orientation and landscape improvement at 38 tourist sites within the UNESCO Lang Son Global Geopark; and exchanged plans for organizing the 2026 Winter International Geopark Festival with activities such as cave exploration, sport climbing, and community tourism.

During the program, the Management Board of the UNESCO Global Geopark Lang Son (Provincial Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion Center) and the following units: Vietnam Television Center for the Central and Central Highlands Region (VTV8), Thanh An Media Joint Stock Company, and Hanoi Diving Club signed a strategic partnership agreement on media relations within the UNESCO Global Geopark Lang Son . This signing not only helps to effectively exploit the geological, cultural, and ecological values but also creates a broad network of connections, further enhancing the image of the UNESCO Global Geopark Lang Son on the world tourism map.
