
Lang Son UNESCO Global Geopark was officially recognized by UNESCO in April 2025, as one of the youngest geoparks in Vietnam, with an area of over 4,800 km².
In order to promote the value of a Global Geopark, effectively implement the task of building and developing the UNESCO Global Geopark Lang Son in 2026 and the period 2026 - 2030, the Organizing Committee announced the map of Khuon Bong Cave, Vu Le commune and Nguom Mooc Cave, Binh Gia commune and introduced the key tasks in the coming period of the UNESCO Global Geopark Lang Son.
At the same time, discuss with partners about the cooperation promotion program to build and develop Lang Son UNESCO Global Geopark. Announce Lang Son Geopark VTV8 Ultra Trail - Huu Lien 2025 Race. The race will take place on December 27-28, in the two communes of Cai Kinh and Huu Lien, Lang Son province.
Mr. Ta Thanh Sang, Viet Nam Expedions Joint Stock Company said that the race will attract about 600 - 2000 participants, up to now there have been more than 300 athletes registered to participate. The race will be held at 4 distances: 5km, 15km, 30km and 60km.
Lang Son UNESCO Global Geopark discussed with partners about the plan to organize the 2026 Winter Geopark International Festival, associated with cave exploration, sport climbing, trekking and community tourism activities. This is an important activity to promote the image, attract tourists, and spread the unique cultural and geological values of Lang Son to the world.
Mr. Pham Hai Quynh, Director of the Asian Tourism Development Institute, said: Organizing the winter festival is the beginning of sharing and displaying the values of resources, creating attraction for more and more tourists to explore the Lang Son Global Geopark.

At the program, domestic and international experts shared many ideas and solutions on sustainable development, management of geopark models in the new situation, as well as experience products and souvenirs associated with geological heritage values; orientation of communication, promotion and landscape improvement at 38 tourist destinations in Lang Son UNESCO Global Geopark... contributing to improving the experience for visitors and creating momentum for the development of green and sustainable tourism for the province in the coming period.
In order to promote cooperation in the field of diving in the UNESCO Global Geopark Lang Son, the Management Office of the UNESCO Global Geopark Lang Son and the Hanoi Diving Club signed an Agreement with three strategic partners: Vietnam Television Center for the Central Highlands Region VTV8, Thanh An Media Joint Stock Company and the Hanoi Diving Club.
Ms. Dinh Phuong Lan, Hanoi Diving Club said: Our signing program with the flag team geopark today will help the company have strategies to promote the image of Lang Son global geopark. From there, we have long-term plans to bring the image of the global geopark to tourists nationwide.
The close coordination between the Global Geopark and strategic partners has opened up a comprehensive development direction. These accompanying efforts not only help to effectively exploit geological - cultural - ecological values but also create an open network of connections, bringing the image of the park further and further on the world geological map. This is an important foundation for the Global Geopark to continue to affirm its reputation, enhance its brand and develop long-term in the future.
