- While construction units working on investment projects in the province all took a break for the Lunar New Year holiday before February 13, 2026, at the construction site of the Kien Moc Commune Inter-level Boarding Primary and Secondary School, workers were still working diligently throughout the holiday with the spirit of "not wasting a single day, not delaying for a single week, not missing an opportunity for a single month," in order to complete the project as planned to welcome students into the new school year 2026-2027.
The Kien Moc Primary and Secondary Boarding School project is being built in Ban Moi village, Kien Moc border commune. The project includes the construction of 30 new classrooms. According to the plan, the project should be substantially completed by early August 2026.

On the morning of the 29th of the 12th lunar month - the last day of the Year of the Snake - we were present at the construction site of Kien Moc Primary and Secondary Boarding School. At that time, nearly 60 workers were still diligently tying together steel bars to create the steel structure of the foundations of the buildings.
Vi Van Hien, a seasoned ironworker from Muong Luan commune, Dien Bien province, wiped the sweat from his forehead and smiled kindly: "It wouldn't be true to say I don't miss home during the days leading up to Tet, but when the contractor launched a project to work through Tet to speed up the progress, I and four other workers from the same commune immediately signed up. During Tet, the contractor also took very good care of the workers' lives, providing meals with plenty of sticky rice cakes, pork sausage, chicken, and adequate benefits."
Similarly to Hien, Mr. Dinh Cong Hung, from Cau Thia ward, Lao Cai province, said: "This is my first time participating in construction work during Tet in Lang Son . Although I miss home, I always dedicate myself wholeheartedly to work with the highest effort to complete the task. On the construction site, the contractor's staff are also very kind and caring towards the workers, providing decent meals after each shift. That's the close sharing during Tet on the construction site."

In addition to the construction workers, four engineers from the contractor also worked alongside them on the construction site to provide technical guidance and ensure the quality of each item.
Lieutenant Colonel Ngo Minh Toan, Commander of the construction contractor, Investment and Construction Engineering Joint Stock Company 29 ( thuộc General Corporation 319, Ministry of National Defense ), shared: "The construction site for the building foundations was obstructed by rocks, causing the unit to lose a lot of time in the foundation construction phase. Therefore, we were determined to take advantage of the dry weather during the Tet holiday and mobilize maximum capacity and personnel to work throughout the Tet holiday, accelerating the progress of the building foundations."

Construction during the Lunar New Year holiday is not only a challenge in terms of progress and quality, but also affirms the contractor's determination to complete the project on schedule. Accordingly, the contractor aims to complete the framework and rough construction of all building blocks of the project before April 30, 2026, creating momentum for the project's completion in early August 2026.
Mr. Luong Van Nam, Chief Construction Supervision Consultant of Coninco Construction Technology, Equipment and Inspection Consulting Joint Stock Company, shared: "Because the project is very urgent, the investor, the construction unit, and the supervision consultant have unanimously decided to continue construction throughout the Tet holiday. Currently, there are 4 construction teams with 60 workers on the site, and supervisory staff are assigned to manage the construction of steel reinforcement for the foundations of the building blocks and formwork assembly. In addition, the contractor also maintains 4 rock-breaking excavators and 2 trucks to prepare the construction site."
According to the detailed plan, the contractor will complete the steel reinforcement for the building's foundations by the Lunar New Year holiday so that 500 cubic meters of concrete can be poured for the foundations on the 6th day of the first lunar month.
To ensure the construction work could proceed on-site throughout the Tet holiday, the contractor also contracted and placed deposits with suppliers to ensure sufficient materials were provided for the project before, during, and after the Lunar New Year of the Year of the Horse.

As the spring sun faded, the high-pressure lamps on the construction site shone brightly again. Amidst the mountains and forests of Kien Moc, the diligent hands of the workers swiftly woven steel wires and assembled formwork panels, allowing the project to take shape more clearly. With engineers and workers diligently working throughout the Tet holiday, a Tet celebration on the construction site was becoming complete and meaningful, as in just a few months, the children of Kien Moc commune would be able to study and train in a new, spacious, and sturdy school.
