This also concretizes the cooperation agreement on international issues within the framework of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between Vietnam and the United States.

Vietnam, having experienced numerous devastating wars, understands very well the value of peace, reconciliation, and post-conflict reconstruction.

The 14th National Congress of the Party affirmed that Vietnam will "participate more actively and responsibly in resolving common international and regional issues."

According to Ambassador Nguyen Quoc Dung, Vietnam's membership as a founding member of the Peace Council reflects that spirit, is a consistent implementation of the Party's foreign policy, and is an effort to enhance the country's prestige and image.

At the same time, this is also an opportunity for Vietnam to leverage its experience and capabilities, and an opportunity to learn from and integrate with other countries when coordinating to carry out common missions.

As a founding member, Vietnam hopes to work with other members to enhance the Council's role in promoting peace and reconstruction in Gaza on the basis of UN Security Council resolutions, ensuring the legitimate interests of all parties, especially the Palestinian people, in accordance with international law and the UN Charter.

"Vietnam is not yet a wealthy country, but we have practical experience in overcoming the consequences of war," the Ambassador added.

Vietnam is ready to contribute human and material resources, to the best of its ability, to the reconstruction and socio-economic recovery efforts and to support the stabilization of the lives of the people of Gaza.

Ambassador Nguyen Quoc Dung stated that this visit is within the framework of multilateral activities, but also has significant importance for bilateral relations between Vietnam and the United States.

US President Donald Trump personally invited General Secretary To Lam to join the Council as a founding member and invited the General Secretary to attend this opening meeting.

The General Secretary's attendance demonstrates support for peace efforts in general and the Gaza reconstruction initiative in particular, contributing to deepening cooperation between the two countries in addressing regional and global issues, in line with the spirit of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.

Therefore, the Ambassador believes that this visit will further strengthen political trust, expand substantive cooperation, and create more momentum for Vietnam-US relations in the future.
