The iPhone 20 design video was posted by the channel fpt.com , which specializes in creating concept videos of upcoming smartphones based on rumors. Previously, sources from the supply chain and renowned analyst Mark Gurman also indicated that the iPhone 20 was in the early stages of trial production.

Traditionally, Apple will launch the iPhone 19 in 2027, but the company will likely rename it the iPhone 20 to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the first iPhone. Apple did this before when they skipped the iPhone 9 and launched the iPhone X to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the iPhone in 2017. At that time, it was also a groundbreaking iPhone model with its ultra-thin bezels and Face ID system, which set the trend for subsequent generations.
The biggest change in the iPhone 20 is its design, featuring a curved display that extends to all four edges, a first for smartphones. According to sources, Apple is collaborating with Samsung to develop a custom OLED panel with a slight curve on all four edges. When viewed from the front, the device will have virtually no bezels, a significant difference from current smartphones.
Apple is reportedly planning to eliminate the traditional polarizing layer on OLED panels by using color filtering technology on the COE coating. This method has several advantages, such as directly printing the color filter onto the packaging layer, reducing the overall thickness of the screen; eliminating the polarizing film, allowing more light to escape, thus increasing brightness while consuming less power. In addition, Apple is also experimenting with a crater-shaped diffusion layer to distribute light evenly, resulting in a vibrant and consistent display across all areas.
The second major upgrade is that the device will eliminate Dynamic Island and feature a notch-less display. The company may use an under-display camera and Face ID system. However, this presents a significant technical challenge.
Meanwhile, Apple is expected to unveil the foldable iPhone Ultra in September of this year, along with the iPhone 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max, while the standard iPhone 18 and the ultra-thin iPhone Air 2 will be available in early 2027.
