From a civilized lifestyle to new seasons of flowers.
Before the Lunar New Year, all villages in the commune simultaneously carried out a comprehensive environmental cleanup and beautified village roads and alleys. New flower beds were planted, encroachments were cleared, and roads were swept, painted, and repaired.

In Ban village, the intersection that was once a traffic bottleneck has now been transformed into a lush green flowerbed. After resolving the encroachment issue, the authorities, in coordination with community organizations, leveled the ground and planted flowers, creating a more attractive appearance. The consensus of the people is a key factor in how seemingly small actions have brought about significant changes in the community's awareness of a civilized way of life.
Alongside landscape beautification, ensuring security and order was also a priority. Throughout the Tet holiday, the commune's police force intensified patrols and inspections; they also conducted awareness campaigns and prevented violations related to firecrackers, construction regulations, and land use. As a result, the people celebrated the New Year in a safe and peaceful atmosphere.
When mentioning Yen Bai in the spring, one cannot fail to mention the peach orchards of Xoan village. 32 households in the peach-growing association have been maintaining a profession that is characteristic of the locality.
From pink and red peach blossoms to elaborately shaped peach trees, each tree is the result of a year of meticulous care. Peach cultivation not only provides a stable income but also contributes to defining the image of ecological agriculture in the commune.
Amidst the blossoming peach trees, Ms. Le Thi Hong Van, the owner of a peach orchard in Xoan village, couldn't hide her hope as she spoke about the coming spring. For her, each peach tree is not just a crop that brings income, but also a source of pride for the people of Yen Bai.

In recent years, besides selling peaches commercially, the peach orchards in Xoan village have also become a popular destination for taking photos and checking in during the Lunar New Year and early spring. Many families, groups of young people, and tourists from the city come to capture memorable moments amidst the pink peach blossoms in the fresh mountain air. As a result, the value of the peach tree extends beyond just an agricultural product; it's now linked to services, experiences, and promoting the local image.
Ms. Van said that in 2025, despite weather fluctuations, thanks to proactive care techniques, proper water and fertilizer management, and timely leaf pruning, the peach blossoms will still bloom beautifully, just in time for Tet (Lunar New Year). Looking ahead to 2026, she hopes that the Yen Bai peach blossoms will continue to assert their position, not only expanding their market but also becoming a distinctive tourism product.
“We hope to receive more support in terms of techniques for creating scenic spots, promoting them on digital platforms, and connecting with ecotourism destinations in the commune so that visitors can come to visit, take photos, and experience them. I wish that in 2026, when people think of spring, they will immediately remember the peach blossoms of Yen Bai,” Ms. Van expressed.

According to Ms. Van, the most important thing is still maintaining quality and reputation. "If the peach blossoms are beautiful, customers will come back. When the peach orchard becomes a destination, we have to take even more care, so that every spring, when they see the peach blossoms, everyone wants to return to Yen Bai," Ms. Van shared.
Create position and generate force.
On a spring afternoon, a thin mist still lingered on the hillsides, and the sound of the Muong gongs seemed to resonate longer in the mountainous landscape west of the capital. Down in the valley, the peach blossoms of Xoan village remained vibrant pink; clean, well-maintained inter-village roads stretched through newly renovated residential areas. Another spring had arrived, but the mindset of Yen Bai today was different – more steadfast and proactive after a pivotal year filled with challenges.
Looking back at the journey towards 2025, the achievements are not just about growth figures or ranked products, but more importantly, about the consensus among the people, the stability of the administrative apparatus after the merger, and the way the government is gradually shifting from "managing" to "serving." This is the foundation for the locality to enter 2026 with clearer aspirations.

According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Ha, Director of the Community Service Center, the unit will support people in developing production along the value chain, connecting agricultural products, ornamental plants, and other characteristic products with experiential tourism activities, creating sustainable added value.
According to Nguyen Van Tung, Chairman of the People's Committee of Yen Bai commune, the government's goal is not just economic development, but improving the quality of life for the people. Mr. Tung stated that Yen Bai commune will continue to leverage its hilly and mountainous ecological advantages, promote safe and organic agriculture; develop experiential tourism linked to Muong culture; and expand the consumption of OCOP products through digital platforms and e-commerce. "We hope that every citizen feels they are a part of this development process," Mr. Tung emphasized.
Sharing the same spirit, the Party Secretary of the commune, Tran Quang Khuyen, affirmed that after the merger, the most important thing is to consolidate trust and unity. "A new Yen Bai is not just a change in geographical boundaries or organizational structure, but a change in development thinking – more ecological, more sustainable, and more closely linked to identity," Mr. Tran Quang Khuyen added.

Building upon the foundation of a pivotal year, Yen Bai enters 2026 with a clear aspiration: to develop an ecological economy, preserve cultural identity, and build a modern, people-oriented government. A new spring has begun, and with it comes the journey of Yen Bai, which is shaping a new image on the map of the western part of the capital city.
