The World Superbike Championship is one of the world's leading road motorcycle racing championships. For a long time, the podium was almost entirely dominated by European and Japanese brands such as Ducati, Yamaha, Kawasaki, and Honda. The strong emergence of ZXMOTO has completely rewritten that landscape.
The victory also led to a surge in pre-orders for ZXMOTO. The company is expected to sell nearly 60,000 vehicles annually, generating almost 1.8 billion yuan in revenue. This emerging domestic motorcycle brand has created a legend in the Chinese manufacturing industry in just two years, while its founder, Zhang Xue, has spent 20 years writing an astonishing life story.

Zhang Xue was born in 1987 in a rural area of Huaihua, Hunan Province. His parents divorced when he was young, and he grew up with his grandmother. After graduating from junior high school, he apprenticed at a motorcycle repair shop. At the age of 17, he opened his own repair shop. Besides repairing motorcycles, he dedicated all his remaining time to practicing his driving skills.
To get a chance to appear on camera and showcase his driving skills, at the age of 19, Zhang Xue braved the rain to drive over 100 kilometers to chase after a television film crew. After the program aired, he sold his car repair shop and joined an off-road racing team. In over two years with the team, he won numerous championships in domestic competitions. However, due to his height limitations, his racing career faced obstacles.
In 2009, Zhang Xue left the racing team and went to work at a motorcycle factory in Zhejiang Province. During his four years there, he mastered the entire process, from research and development of complete vehicles to production and the supply chain. He understood that, due to technological monopolies, large-capacity engines, electronic control systems, and components were all dependent on imports. Domestic motorcycles were once seen as synonymous with cheap, low-quality, copied designs lacking core technology. From then on, he was determined to create top-of-the-line motorcycles for China.
In 2013, Zhang Xue brought 20,000 yuan from Zhejiang to Chongqing, preparing for her journey to build a car herself.
In 2017, Zhang Xue and his associates founded the Kove Moto brand. Six months later, Kove Moto's first model was successfully launched. However, in 2024, at a time when Kove Moto was experiencing strong growth, Zhang Xue voluntarily relinquished all his shares and chose to leave. The reason was that his proposal to increase investment and independently research and develop high-performance, large-displacement engines was rejected by investors who prioritized stable profits.

In April 2024, ZXMOTO was officially established. Three months after its establishment, ZXMOTO received a funding round of 20 million yuan. By January 2026, the company had completed a further funding round of 90 million yuan. With this financial support, the research and development of high-performance, large-displacement engines was progressing smoothly.
Currently, ZXMOTO has independently researched, developed, and successfully mass-produced two high-performance engine models, completely breaking the long-standing monopoly of Europe, the US, and Japan in the field of high-performance medium and large displacement motorcycle engines.
After winning the World Superbike Championship for the first time, Truong Tuyet posted a video on social media. He said, "If you do something not for the sake of results, but for the sake of passion, perhaps the actual outcome will be different."
Twenty years ago, a young boy braved the rain to chase after a film crew just "to see" them; twenty years later, he stands at the pinnacle of the world, letting the world see "the speed of China."
