At the time of inspection, the enterprise could not present documents related to intellectual property. The customs agency coordinated with the representative of the rights holder to take samples for examination and initially determined that all the watches were counterfeit. The representative of the rights holder said that if they were genuine, the shipment would be worth about 45 billion VND. The case is being further processed.

Previously, from June 1 to June 15, Team 1 also discovered and handled 4 other violations at the Tra Linh international border gate area. The exhibits included more than 5,700 fake clothing, handbags, and sports shoes of famous brands such as Tommy, Celine, Nike, Louis Vuitton, Lacoste, Adidas, and New Balance.

Among these are more than 700 pairs of fake Adidas and New Balance shoes that also have fake Vietnamese origin - a serious violation of both trademark and origin.

All cases continue to be investigated and clarified by authorities for handling according to legal regulations.

Recently, the Customs Department also informed that Noi Bai International Airport Customs discovered a passenger illegally transporting goods and currency across the border.

The incident was discovered during the process of strengthening control and prevention of smuggling and illegal transportation of goods and foreign currency.

Specifically, at 10:20 p.m. on June 8, while completing procedures for passengers departing on flight VN310 from Noi Bai to Narita (Japan), the Export Baggage Procedures Team - Noi Bai International Airport Customs discovered that passenger Nguyen Huu Lam had suspicious signs.

Through screening and direct inspection of carry-on luggage, Customs forces discovered an envelope inside the suitcase containing a large amount of banknotes suspected to be foreign currency.

Initial inspection results determined that there were 690 bills, denominations of 10,000 Japanese Yen, hidden in carry-on luggage without customs declaration, and without presenting legal documents as required.

The customs agency said that the case had been prosecuted by the Hanoi City Police Investigation Agency and the decision to prosecute Nguyen Huu Lam for the crime of illegally transporting goods and currency across the border.
