The entrance exam to grade 10 in Ho Chi Minh City this year took place at 158 test sites with 4.102 rooms (147 points for regular exams and 11 points for specialized exams). The number of officials and teachers mobilized to participate in the exam is 12.306 people (including police and medical forces).
This year, Ho Chi Minh City has 77.294 targets to enter the 10th grade through the 10th grade entrance exam at 114 high schools across the city, with 96.334 candidates registered for the exam.
According to the statistical report, in the morning of the Literature exam, there were 95.959/96.334 candidates participating in the exam (99,61% rate), 375 candidates were absent. Afternoon Foreign Language subject had 95.951/96.334 candidates (ratio 99,60%), absent 383 candidates.
During the Literature exam on the morning of June 6, there were 6 cases where candidates violated the exam regulations. Specifically, there were 5 candidates who were 2 minutes late at 20:8 am, so the head of the test score did not allow candidates to take the exam as prescribed; 20 candidates violated exam regulations (bringing mobile phones into the exam room); suspended the exam and confiscated the phone, transferred security to check the device and confirmed that no exam papers were sent out. At the same time, a written suspension of the exam was made in accordance with regulations. There is a case where a candidate who opened a document in the exam room confiscated the document and issued a warning to deal with it.
According to candidates, this year's literature exam has a "high degree of openness" that is both within the range of the age group's perception. The topic is creative, not duplicated with previous years. On the other hand, the topic is differentiated in two aspects: test-taking skills and creative thinking.
In the afternoon, the English exam took place normally, with no candidates violating the exam regulations.
With the subject of Foreign Language, the candidates taking the English test said that the exam was very easy, there were no questions that were discriminatory. Students who do well in this subject can easily get 8-9 points.
On June 7, candidates take the Math exam (morning) and the specialized/integrated exam (afternoon). Time to do Math is 6 minutes, professional is 120 minutes.
In the entrance exam to class 10 in 2023, students are only allowed to bring into the examination room the following items: pens, pencils, compasses, erasers, rulers; Pocket calculators do not have a text editor function, do not have memory cards. Candidates can only leave the exam room and test area after 2/3 of the exam time is over.
