In his debut, Do Hoang Hen showed that he could become a new attacking option, sharing the burden with Nguyen Xuan Son in the forward line.
Trusted by coach Kim Sang-sik to start, Hoang Hen played the full 90 minutes with high intensity. The 1994-born striker moved widely, flexibly, and constantly sought out space. He didn't just wait for the ball; he frequently dropped deep to connect with teammates, making the team's attacking play more unpredictable.
Hoang Hen's energetic play quickly created clear opportunities. In the 25th minute, he received the ball in a favorable position and unleashed a left-footed shot, but the ball narrowly missed the post. This situation showcased the newcomer's positioning and finishing ability, albeit lacking a bit of precision at the crucial moment.
For the remainder of the match, Hoang Hen continued to be a key player in many of Vietnam's attacking moves. He frequently stretched the opposing defenders to create space for his teammates. However, goals eluded the striker, even with numerous shots.
The most unfortunate moment came in the 87th minute. From outside the penalty area, Hoang Hen executed a highly skillful curling shot, the ball went past the Bangladesh goalkeeper but hit the post. If that had gone in, his debut could have been much more perfect.

Although he hasn't scored yet, Hoang Hen's performance has been very impressive. More importantly, he has quickly adapted to the team's playing style. He showed no signs of awkwardness in his first appearance for the national team; he played confidently, maintained a good tempo, and consistently stayed in the opponent's third of the field.
Hoang Hen clearly adds depth to the Vietnamese national team's attack. While Xuan Son brings directness, strength, and the ability to act as a focal point, Hoang Hen is more focused on technique and agile movement. These two distinct styles promise to create the necessary complementarity, making attacking options more diverse.
With the team heading into a crucial match against Malaysia on March 31st, Hoang Hen's performance offers a certain degree of optimism. Malaysia will undoubtedly be a much tougher opponent than Bangladesh, requiring the Vietnamese team to make good use of their opportunities.
Having a new attacking option gives coach Kim Sang-sik more choices and reduces the pressure on key players to score goals. It's worth noting that Hoang Hen also played very well with Xuan Son when they were together at Nam Dinh Club.
The victory against Bangladesh may not be the perfect measure, but the signals from Hoang Hen are enough to raise expectations. With Xuan Son no longer the sole pillar of support, the Vietnamese team enters the match against Malaysia with more confidence, ready for the big challenge ahead.
