Standing before the mothers, Lieutenant Colonel Tran Van Hong, on behalf of the delegation, bowed in gratitude and expressed deep gratitude for the great sacrifices that the mothers and their families made for the cause of national liberation and reunification.
“The sacrifices of mothers are noble symbols of revolutionary heroism. That is also the motivation for today's generation to continue to strive to study, train and work, contributing to building the homeland and country to become more and more prosperous and civilized,” said Lieutenant Colonel Tran Van Hong emotionally.
The highlight of this year’s program was the gratitude meal held at the home of Nguyen Thi Lieu’s mother in Bau Oc village. The meal was carefully prepared by the hands of officers, soldiers and youth union members. Although the dishes were simple and familiar to daily life, they were imbued with love and affection, creating a warm atmosphere like a family reunion.

In the small house, the members of the group sat together with their mother, ate and chatted, recalling emotional memories of their beloved children who had remained forever on the battlefield. The meal was a precious spiritual medicine, helping to soothe the loss and deprivation that the mothers had suffered.
Captain Vo Van Thanh, Mass Assistant (Political Department, Da Nang City Military Command) confided that the gratitude meal is like a bridge, bringing today's young generations to the immeasurable losses of yesterday. It is not only an act of gratitude, but also a continuation of morality, spirit and civic responsibility before the country's history.
“There are things that cannot be expressed in words. When sitting next to our mother, we young soldiers see more clearly why we must live a decent and dedicated life. Because our mother once lost her own child, so that we can have today,” Captain Vo Van Thanh shared.

Mr. Nguyen Ha Vi, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hoi An Tay Ward and Secretary of the Ward Youth Union, said that through the program, the locality hopes that these meaningful activities will help the younger generation better understand and appreciate historical values, foster love for their homeland and country, and be more responsible to the community and society.
“A meaningful program ended with many emotions. Not only is it the name of a program, “The Day I Return” is also a journey back in the truest sense: returning to the roots, to the mother, to history, educating the noble ideals of life for the young generation - those who will continue to preserve, protect and build the country...”, Mr. Vi emphasized.
