Spring arrives early in new homes.
Recently, after the handover ceremony for the "Quang Trung Campaign" house concluded, in the house still smelling of fresh lime, Mrs. Le Thi Da (Residential Group 1, Do Vinh Ward) was moved to see the soldiers of the 896th Infantry Regiment, Provincial Military Command, carefully rearranging the wooden bed, television, and other items that her family had just received as gifts. Mrs. Da's family is a family dedicated to honoring fallen soldiers. Their previous house was completely destroyed during the floods of November 2025. Mrs. Da shared: "I am 87 years old this year. In my old age, I only wish for a place to shelter from the rain and sun and live peacefully. Therefore, when the house collapsed, I was extremely distraught. Now, with the soldiers rebuilding such a sturdy new house, I am very happy!" For her, the house is not only a place to live, but also a place where she continues to maintain the ancestral rites for her deceased relatives.

Sharing similar sentiments, Lieutenant Colonel Le Duc Trung, Administrative Assistant at the Command of Defense Zone 2 - Dien Khanh, stated that for him and his comrades, assisting people in building houses is both a duty and a heartfelt command, a special affection for those affected by the floods. Throughout the mission, officers and soldiers from the units always strived to work with the highest spirit, ensuring that each house was built solidly, according to design, and on schedule. Lieutenant Colonel Le Duc Trung shared: "For many consecutive days, the working teams worked from early morning until late at night. On some days, when it rained unexpectedly, the team still stayed on the construction site, covering with tarpaulins to continue working, hoping to complete the project soon so that people could have stable housing before the Lunar New Year. For the soldiers, the moment of handing over the houses, seeing the people cleaning up, arranging their belongings, and hearing their joyful laughter is the greatest reward after days of hard work."
Warmth of the bond between soldiers and civilians
The construction of 70 houses is the result of close coordination between the Provincial Military Command, the 4th Naval Region, the 5th Naval Special Forces Brigade, and local Party committees, authorities, and mass organizations, especially the sense of responsibility and effort of the officers and soldiers directly involved in the construction. From the surveying stage to the organization of construction, everything was discussed and agreed upon, based on practical considerations, ensuring the progress and quality of the project.

In addition to rebuilding new houses for the people, at the handover ceremony, military units, along with local Party committees, authorities, and mass organizations, also presented families with many practical gifts for daily life such as televisions, rice cookers, electric fans, etc.; some households in difficult circumstances also received tables, chairs, and cabinets... These meaningful and practical gifts helped the households alleviate difficulties and gradually stabilize their lives, because after the floods, almost all of the families' belongings were damaged or swept away by the water.
