Many fans accuse FIFA of "bending the rules" to ensure the Portuguese captain can feature in the opening match of the 2026 World Cup.

Some other users were even more critical, calling the ruling "absurd" and "shameful." Some even jokingly suggested that Ronaldo's inclusion in the 2026 World Cup was actually a disadvantage for Portugal.
