The UAE women's team is currently ranked 113th in the world according to FIFA, quite a distance from the Vietnam women's team (ranked 33). The remaining two teams are Guam (ranked 93) and Maldives (ranked 159). With home field advantage and high spirits, coach Mai Duc Chung and his team have a great opportunity to win 3 more points, thereby getting closer to the ticket to the final round of the 2026 Women's Asian Cup.
The qualifying round of the 2026 Women's Asian Cup has 34 teams divided into 8 groups (2 groups of 5 teams and 6 groups of 4 teams), competing in a round-robin format. The top eight teams in each group will qualify for the finals, along with the four teams that have already qualified directly: Australia (hosts) and the three teams with the best results in the 2022 season: China, Japan and South Korea.
