The UAE women's team is currently ranked 113th in the world according to FIFA, a considerable distance from the Vietnam women's team (ranked 33rd). The other two teams are Guam (ranked 93rd) and Maldives (ranked 159th). With home advantage and high morale, Coach Mai Duc Chung's team has a great opportunity to win another 3 points, thus moving closer to securing a ticket to the 2026 Women's Asian Cup finals.
The qualifying round for the 2026 Women's Asian Cup features 34 teams divided into 8 groups (2 groups of 5 teams and 6 groups of 4 teams), competing in a round-robin format. The top eight teams from each group will qualify for the finals, along with the four teams that already secured direct qualification: Australia (the host nation) and the three best-performing teams from the 2022 season: China, Japan, and South Korea.
