NDO - On May 25th, Hoan Kiem district (Hanoi) began erecting barriers to prepare for the demolition of the "Shark's Jaw" building at 1-3-5 Dinh Tien Hoang Street, to serve the project of renovating and beautifying Dong Kinh Nghia Thuc Square.

It took the units two days to complete the fencing around the building.

Workers are rushing to erect barricades to meet the deadline.

The power system has been safely shut off to allow construction to proceed.

The planning for Hoan Kiem Lake in general and Dong Kinh Nghia Thuc Square in particular has been publicly posted by the Hanoi People's Committee at many locations in the Old Quarter.

The building was enclosed with netting to facilitate dismantling.

Businesses that leased commercial space here have proactively dismantled and relocated their assets.

The interior components are being dismantled.

The outdoor advertising signs have also been removed.

After demolishing the Shark Fin building, combined with the renovation of the surrounding streets, approximately 1.2 hectares of space will be created for community activities, with three underground levels to be built beneath this area.
