Bac Kan awakens tourism potential

Regarding historical and cultural relics, Bac Kan has 120 relics, including 2 special national relics, 7 national relics, 55 provincial relics and 56 relics in the inventory list. Along with that is the intangible cultural heritage system with 291 heritages that have been inventoried and identified, of which 20 heritages have been included in the list of national intangible cultural heritages, 1 representative intangible cultural heritage of humanity, this is a rich and diverse cultural resource, creating attraction for tourists, especially international tourists.

In the province, there are also many typical revolutionary historical relics such as: ATK Cho Don National Special Relic Site, Na Tu Historical Relic, Phu Thong Fort Historical Relic, Deo Giang Victory Historical Relic... which are places bearing the mark of a time of revolutionary activities of President Ho Chi Minh, senior leaders of the Party, State, army and people of Bac Kan.

In addition, the tourism potential of Bac Kan province also lies in its diverse and rich culture (customs, festivals of the Tay, Nung, Mong, Dao ethnic groups). Then melodies, Tinh lute, sli singing, luon singing... are imbued with the cultural identity of the highland people.

Currently, the province is developing a plan for the special national scenic relic of Ba Be Lake and its surrounding areas; a plan for the preservation, restoration and rehabilitation of the special national relic ATK Cho Don as a basis for attracting investment, developing tourism infrastructure and the value of the relics in a sustainable manner. Implementing the project on applying information technology to serve smart tourism in Bac Kan province; a project on typical tourism products and completing pilot models of rural tourism associated with new rural construction in Bac Kan province in the period of 2021 - 2025 in Phieng An village, Quang Thuan commune, Bach Thong district and Chua Lai village, Thanh Van commune, Cho Moi district.

In order to stimulate the growth of domestic and international tourists in the market of Hanoi city and provinces and cities across the country to Bac Kan, last April, Bac Kan organized a conference to promote Bac Kan tourism destinations in Hanoi, associated with the 2022 VITM Hanoi International Tourism Fair, thereby promoting and calling for investment in developing Bac Kan tourism. It is expected that from now until 2025, Bac Kan will continue to organize tourism promotion conferences in Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh City. At the same time, it will proactively host and participate in events to introduce, promote and promote tourism at the regional, national and international levels...

With the above solutions, Bac Kan is striving to complete the goal: By 2025, build Ba Be Tourist Area into a national tourist area, Nam Cat Lake Tourist Area into a provincial tourist area, each district and city has at least 1 recognized tourist spot and area; by 2030, Bac Kan tourism industry will basically become a spearhead economic sector of the province in the spirit of Resolution No. 18-NQ/TU dated August 12, 2021 of the Provincial Party Committee on tourism development in the period of 2021 - 2025, with a vision to 2030.

By 2030, Bac Kan tourism will basically become a key economic sector of the province; attracting about 50,000 international visitors and 1,700,000 domestic visitors; total revenue from tourists is estimated at over 2,500 billion VND, equivalent to 10% of the province's GRDP; 60% of tourism human resources will be trained in tourism expertise and profession./.
