On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army (December 22, 1944 - December 22, 2024) and the 35th anniversary of the National Defense Day (December 22, 1989 - December 22, 2024), on the afternoon of December 19, Mr. Do Van Chien, Member of the Political Bureau, Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, and Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, visited and congratulated the Ministry of National Defense . Monitoring activities enhance the role of the Front.
On December 19th, the Ho Chi Minh City Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front held a conference to review the implementation of Directive No. 18-CT/TW dated October 26, 2022, of the Party Central Committee and Circular No. 24-TT/TU dated May 19, 2023, of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee on promoting the role and improving the quality and effectiveness of social supervision and criticism by the Vietnam Fatherland Front and political and social organizations.
Social monitoring and criticism activities have contributed to enhancing the role of the Fatherland Front, creating additional bridges and strengthening the people's trust in the Party and the State. (See details)
Quang Ninh: Promoting the role of emulation movements in post-typhoon reconstruction after Typhoon Yagi.
The emulation movements in Ha Long City have truly proven effective, creating a bright spot in the work of overcoming the consequences and rebuilding after Typhoon Yagi.
Ha Long City (Quang Ninh province) was one of the localities most severely affected by Typhoon Yagi, with total estimated damage exceeding 10,000 billion VND. (See details)

On the morning of December 19th, at Gia Lam Airport, Long Bien District, Hanoi, the Vietnam International Defence Expo 2024 officially opened and will last for four days, from December 19th to 22nd.
The opening ceremony, themed “Vietnam – Peace – Cooperation – Development,” featured performances by 2,000 officers and soldiers of the Vietnam People's Army. The Vietnam People's Army and Border Guard military dogs performed to welcome the exhibition. (See details)
