According to the Railway Transport Joint Stock Company, from now until September 19, it will accept group ticket registrations. Priority groups include the armed forces, universities, colleges, and businesses in industrial zones.
This year, the railway industry continues to sell extra seat tickets for children from 6 to under 10 years old. Passengers who have purchased sleeper or seat tickets can buy an additional seat ticket for children, and when boarding the train, children will share the same seat with adults.
During Tet, there are expected to be 55 trains with more than 800 carriages, supplying about 330,000 tickets per day. In addition to 7 pairs of Thong Nhat passenger trains, there will be two additional pairs of trains (TN3/4 and TN5/6) running the Hanoi - Ho Chi Minh City route.
Customers buying tickets during Tet enjoy a discount policy: buying long-distance tickets (from 10 days or more, distance over 900 km) get a 5-15% discount; customers traveling from Saigon station on December 28 (February 15, 2026) over 1,000 km get a 3% discount; buying group tickets of 11 people or more get a 2-12% discount; buying round-trip tickets get a 5% discount on the return leg; students get a 10-20% discount.
The railway industry recommends that passengers buy tickets at stations or official agents, bring identification to enjoy preferential treatment, and avoid buying through brokers. Tickets are also sold online on the website.
