According to the Vietnam Railway Transport Joint Stock Company, group ticket registrations will be accepted from now until September 19th. Priority will be given to members of the armed forces, universities, colleges, and businesses in industrial zones.
This year, the railway industry continues to sell supplemental seats for children aged 6 to under 10. Passengers who have purchased sleeper or seated tickets can buy an additional supplemental seat for a child, who will share a seat with an adult on the train.
During the Tet holiday, it is expected that 55 trains with more than 800 carriages will provide approximately 330,000 tickets per day. In addition to the 7 Thong Nhat passenger trains, there will be two additional trains (TN3/4 and TN5/6) running on the Hanoi - Ho Chi Minh City route.
Passengers purchasing tickets during the Tet holiday are entitled to discounts: 5-15% off for tickets purchased well in advance (10 days or more, distances over 900 km); 3% off for passengers departing from Saigon Station on the 28th day of the 12th lunar month (February 15, 2026) for distances over 1,000 km; 2-12% off for group tickets (11 people or more); 5% off for the return leg; and 10-20% off for students.
The railway industry advises passengers to buy tickets at stations and official agents, bringing identification documents to receive discounts, and to avoid buying through intermediaries. Tickets are also sold online on the website.
