Radar Station 550 is tasked with closely observing and controlling its assigned sea area, ensuring it remains unprepared in all situations.
As Station Chief, Major Cao Xuan Duy always upholds a high sense of responsibility, maintains strict discipline, establishes a regular and orderly system, adheres to regulations, and ensures the security and safety of the unit. To effectively carry out assigned tasks, he, along with the unit's commanders, thoroughly disseminates and implements combat training tasks to each branch and department; organizes the drafting and approval of training lesson plans, develops training models and teaching aids; trains the teaching staff; and organizes training according to the schedule, ensuring the correct and sufficient time and content. During the training process, the unit focuses on in-depth training in the operation and mastery of technical equipment, especially the new generation of equipment that has been deployed.
Station Chief Cao Xuan Duy consistently directs all officers and staff in the unit to focus on combining theoretical and practical training, prioritizing practical application. He assigns highly skilled and experienced military personnel with many years of service to guide and mentor new recruits using a hands-on approach. This is one of the practical measures to help officers and soldiers quickly learn, manage, master, and skillfully use equipment, and effectively perform their assigned professional duties.
Colonel Nguyen Huu Hung, Political Commissar of Regiment 351, commented: Comrade Cao Xuan Duy is always proactive and diligent in self-study and training to improve his professional skills, expertise, and work style, meeting the requirements of the assigned tasks. Duy always promotes democracy well, discussing with the Party committee and station commanders measures to implement work plans that closely match the requirements and assigned tasks; he is always united, attentive, and concerned about the living conditions of the soldiers.
In 2024, Station 550 was awarded the title "Unit of Decisive Victory"; Major Cao Xuan Duy was awarded the title "Most Outstanding Radar Station Commander in the Navy" by the Navy Command.
