As Station Chief, Major Cao Xuan Duy always upholds the sense of responsibility, maintains strict discipline, builds a regular routine, complies with orders, and maintains security and safety of the unit. To carry out the assigned tasks well, he and the unit commander thoroughly grasp and deploy combat training tasks to each branch and department; organizes the drafting and approval of training curriculum, builds teaching aids; trains the teaching staff and organizes training according to the correct schedule, with the correct and sufficient time and content. During the training process, the unit focuses on in-depth training on the content of exploiting and mastering technical equipment, especially the new generation of equipment that has been assigned.

Station Chief Cao Xuan Duy always directs the officers and staff of the entire unit to focus on combining theoretical and practical training, with practice being the main focus. Assigning soldiers who are good at professional expertise, have experience, and have many years of work experience to guide and train new comrades in the unit, using the "hand-holding" method. This is one of the practical measures for officers and soldiers to quickly approach, manage, master, and skillfully use equipment, and perform well the assigned professional tasks.

Colonel Nguyen Huu Hung, Political Commissar of Regiment 351, commented: Comrade Cao Xuan Duy is always proactive and actively self-studying, practicing to improve his professional qualifications, skills, and working style, meeting the requirements of assigned tasks. Duy always promotes democracy well, together with the Party Committee and station commanders, discusses measures to develop work plans close to the requirements and assigned tasks; always unites, closely follows, and cares about the lives of soldiers.

In 2024, Station 550 was awarded the title "Victory Unit"; Major Cao Xuan Duy was awarded the title "Most Outstanding Radar Station Chief of the Navy" by the Navy.
