This year, Bao Thang district planted 1,569 hectares of rice during the spring crop season, exceeding the plan by 1.4%.
Currently, the spring rice crop is entering its peak harvesting period, with an estimated average yield of 62.15 quintals/hectare (compared to 62 quintals/hectare in the spring of 2024), and an estimated production of 9,751 tons.
To ensure the highest yield and quality of the spring rice crop, the District Department of Agriculture and Environment has requested that localities advise farmers to harvest ripe spring rice quickly and efficiently, following the principle of "better to harvest while still green than to let it rot in the field," in order to promptly free up land for the summer crop production.
In addition, instructions were given to make the best preparations for crop production during the summer and winter seasons, such as providing seeds, fertilizers, and ensuring adequate irrigation.
