The live broadcast of Barcelona's friendly match experienced technical difficulties. |
The friendly match was streamed for free on Barcelona's official app, but midway through the second half, the club was forced to issue an apology because thousands of people were unable to access the live stream.
Barca stated: "FC Barcelona's streaming platform was attacked by multiple sites attempting to hijack the live broadcast of the match against Vissel Kobe. The security system automatically activated, resulting in disruptions on the Culers website and app."
The club immediately redirected the broadcast to YouTube to ensure fans could continue watching. "We apologize for the inconvenience and will contact those affected," Barca added.
The friendly match was almost canceled due to a contract dispute, but it was ultimately held as planned. Eric Garcia opened the scoring for Barca at Misaki Park. Taisei Miyashiro then equalized, before Bardghji and Fernandez scored two goals to seal a 3-1 victory for Barca against the home team.
Rashford was brought on at the start of the second half. Within minutes, he immediately made his mark with an assist for Roony Bardghji's goal, putting the score at 2-1. However, Rashford was surprisingly substituted after only about 30 minutes on the pitch.
On July 31st, Rashford could be reunited with his former teammate Jesse Lingard when Barca face FC Seoul at the 66,000-seat Seoul World Cup Stadium.
