The Kien Giang Border Guard Task Force inspected and made a record of a fishing vessel carrying about 50.000 liters of DO oil of unknown origin.
At 19:40 on July 30, the vessel BP 7 of the Kien Giang Border Guard received a message from the Border Guard Station of An Thoi port that there was a vehicle transporting illegal oil at sea running from the direction Cambodia to Vietnam.
After reporting and consulting the Kien Giang Border Guard Command, the vessel BP 20.19.01 coordinated with the working group of An Thoi port border guard station to organize mobile patrols and coverts at sea to intercept. At about 23 o'clock on the same day, the working group stopped the ship for inspection.
At the time of inspection, ship KG 93262TS carried about 50.000 liters of DO oil, with 1 captain and 3 crew members on board. Captain Ngo Thanh Tam (born in 1964), residing in Vinh Thanh Van ward, City. Rach Gia (Kien Giang) failed to present papers, invoices and documents proving the origin of the oil.
The working group brought people, vehicles and all exhibits to Vinh Dam port for further investigation and handling.
