The police have arrested an official from the Department of Justice to investigate his alleged "abuse of influence over persons holding positions of power for personal gain."
On July 20th, sources reported that the Gia Lai Provincial Police Investigation Agency had temporarily detained Mr. Le Khac Huy (36 years old, a specialist at the Gia Lai Department of Justice) for investigation into the act of "Abusing influence over persons holding positions of power to gain illicit profits" under Article 366 of the Penal Code.
According to sources, Mr. Le Khac Huy is involved in a case that occurred at the Land Registration Office of Gia Lai province.
Previously, as reported by SGGP newspaper, the Gia Lai Provincial Police arrested and detained Mr. Le Canh Phu, Director of the Land Registration Office of Ia Grai District (Gia Lai), and Do Minh Hieu (35 years old, employee of the Registration and Certificate Issuance Department, under the Gia Lai Provincial Land Registration Office) for investigation into the act of "receiving bribes".
From 2020 to 2022, taking advantage of his position, Hieu received money from people to expedite the processing of land use right certificates. The total amount of money Hieu received was over 2 billion VND.
