Beckham knighted

David Beckham, Manchester United legend and Inter Miami owner, is set to be knighted.

According to The Sun , the former England captain is expected to be recognized with the title "Sir" next week. Now, Beckham's wife Victoria will also officially carry the title "Lady".

With 115 caps for the Three Lions and huge contributions both on and off the pitch, Beckham's name is said to occupy a prominent position on the list of people honored by the Royal Family.

The former Manchester United and Real Madrid star has built up a strong personal relationship with King Charles III over the years, a relationship that has been further strengthened through Beckham's role as ambassador for The King's Foundation.

This is not the first time Beckham has received royal recognition. In 2003, he was awarded an OBE by Queen Elizabeth II at Buckingham Palace for his services to football.
