Boxing is not just a sport ; it's a lifestyle, where each person chooses their own way of facing challenges—either to fall or to rise stronger after each punch of life.
Boxer Vo Chi Tam said: “Boxing, also known as boxing, is a combat sport with basic techniques such as straight punch, hook punch, and uppercut. I've been boxing for 4 years. Since joining this sport, I've changed my lifestyle for the better. I no longer stay up late, eat haphazardly, or hang out with friends; instead, I go to bed early, wake up early, and have a disciplined diet and training schedule. As a result, my health has improved, my spirits are higher, and I've found a new direction in my life. Through this, I can both pursue my passion and earn an income from boxing.”

More than just powerful punches, boxing has become a "lifeline" for Mr. Tam, helping him find his career path and plan for the future. Boxing has lifted him from the darkness of despair into the light of discipline, passion, and fame. However, to stay committed to boxing, besides passion, Mr. Tam needs to have real willpower, determination, and a fighting spirit to defeat his opponents. This is the only way for him to affirm his value and brand.
Mr. Tam shared: “Besides using a lot of force from the hands, boxing technique requires flexibility in movement and coordination of the whole body. Movement, dodging, and counter-attacking techniques are important elements when participating in boxing. In professional matches, victory comes from using accurate punches to vital points of the opponent. To prepare to step into the ring for a new match, I have to prepare very carefully from training to diet, rest, and physical fitness.”
However, my biggest challenge was my mindset before the competition. But once I stepped into the ring with the audience and my students cheering me on, my mindset stabilized immediately, and I used that as motivation and confidence to give my best. And for me, to be a good coach, you have to personally experience the difficulties, challenges, and psychological pressure that a fighter faces during a competition. Only then can you accumulate experience and guide your students accordingly.”
Sweat-drenched face, tense dodges, powerful punches, and the cheers of the crowd have created a completely different Vo Chi Tam, not as gentle as his smile and eyes suggest. Now, he is not only a professional boxer but also a skilled coach.
Mr. Tam added: “In the future, I want to have more professional boxing matches against opponents from around the world . Through that, I will accumulate experience to better train my students. In particular, I want to develop boxing in my hometown of Tay Ninh, helping young people improve their health while creating a healthy and beneficial recreational activity for many. What I hope to instill in my students is discipline, perseverance, good health, and an unwavering will to never give up!”
Vo Chi Tam, a native of Trang Bang, Tay Ninh province, is gradually establishing himself in boxing, seeking a firm place in world competitions. Every journey is challenging, full of obstacles, and every match is filled with sweat and tears… However, Tam always believes that: “to succeed in the future, you must succeed with yourself every day.” From that belief, boxing has truly changed his life, from his way of living to his way of thinking. The Tam of today is not the Tam of yesterday, but a resilient and courageous Vo Chi Tam.
