The "Trade Union Meal" program, implemented by trade unions at all levels in the province, is not just about providing daily meals, but also represents the care and sharing of trade unions and businesses towards workers who are dedicated to the production and business activities of their respective units and enterprises.
Recently, over 200 workers at Kansai Paint Vietnam Co., Ltd. (Pho Noi A Industrial Park) gathered around simple yet heartwarming meals, a gathering of solidarity known as the "Union Meal." Congratulatory messages and encouragement from company and union leaders mingled with lively laughter and conversation, creating a warm and close-knit atmosphere like a complete family. The meal was further enlivened by stories about work and daily life. Mr. Nguyen Van Manh, a worker at the company, emotionally shared: "We feel very happy and fortunate to enjoy a delicious meal in such a joyful and cozy atmosphere. This provides us with positive energy, strengthens team spirit, and reinforces the values of solidarity and love, making me feel like I'm part of the union family."
The "Union Meal" organized by the Trade Union of Kansai Paint Vietnam Co., Ltd. is valued at 120,000 VND per meal, with the Trade Union contributing an additional 50,000 VND per meal. Furthermore, the Trade Union mobilizes additional social resources to provide employees with a warm and nutritious meal. Mr. Trinh Van Dat, Chairman of the Company's Trade Union, stated: "This is part of a series of practical activities by the Company's Trade Union aimed at improving the material and spiritual lives of employees, building a civilized, modern, and humane working environment. It also provides an opportunity for company leaders to meet with employees, creating an atmosphere of unity and understanding, thereby building trust and loyalty among employees towards the company."
At Yazaki Hai Phong Vietnam Co., Ltd. Thai Binh branch (Song Tra Industrial Park), more than 4,900 workers participated in the "Union Meal" program. Each meal was worth 50,000 VND, with the company's union contributing an additional 20,000 VND per meal compared to the daily shift meal. Therefore, the meals included more nutritious dishes such as fried chicken, water spinach soup with meat, watermelon, and milk for dessert. At the table, with trays full of food, many workers expressed their excitement about the special meal. Ms. Tong Thi Thuy, a worker at the company, happily said: "Today, we not only enjoyed delicious food but also clearly felt the care and sharing from the union and the company's leadership, so we are very happy." Furthermore, employees receive care and attention from the company and the company's trade union, ensuring their salaries, bonuses, social insurance, and unemployment insurance benefits. Therefore, I have worked at this company for over 13 years and will continue to stay with them for the long term.
From August to the end of September 2025, 51 grassroots trade unions in the province implemented the "Trade Union Meal" program, benefiting nearly 27,000 workers. The "Trade Union Meal" meals were equivalent to the value of a regular daily meal, with an additional amount exceeding 1 billion VND supported by grassroots trade union finances and social mobilization efforts. The criteria for the "Trade Union Meal" included ensuring food safety and hygiene, and not impacting business operations, aiming to benefit all workers. Therefore, the "Trade Union Meal" program was organized with close coordination between grassroots trade unions and enterprise leaders, creating consensus and positive response from workers. In some businesses, the "Union Meal" not only contributes to the practical care of workers' lives but also serves as an opportunity to recruit new members, give birthday gifts, provide gifts to workers in difficult circumstances, and understand the thoughts and aspirations of workers...
Comrade Do Thi Huong, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province and Chairman of the Provincial Labor Union, emphasized: “The ‘Trade Union Meal’ is a meaningful activity initiated by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor , contributing to affirming the role and responsibility of trade union organizations in caring for and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of union members and workers. It is also an opportunity for workers, trade unions, and enterprise leaders to share, listen to each other's thoughts and aspirations, fostering understanding, solidarity, and close ties, contributing to building harmonious, stable, and developing labor relations.”
