The information was shared by Mr. Phuong Hung, son of singer Elvis Phuong and nephew of artist Kieu Nga, on the morning of July 14 on his personal page.

Previously, Kieu Nga was hospitalized on July 6 due to a stroke, then fell into a deep coma.

"Singer Kieu Nga, my beloved aunt, has passed away, leaving behind so much grief for her family, friends, fellow artists and audiences across the country and abroad. Please join Phuong Hung and his family in praying for Kieu Nga to rest in peace," Phuong Hung wrote.

The passing of famous singer Kieu Nga left much regret for Vietnamese music lovers.

Under Phuong Hung's post, the audience left comments: "We have lost a wonderful voice", "Thank you for bringing your voice to this life, rest in peace"...

Singer Kieu Nga, born in 1960, is the younger sister of singer Elvis Phuong. She is loved by audiences at home and abroad for her love songs by Trinh Cong Son, Ngo Thuy Mien... as well as French songs with Vietnamese lyrics such as Besame Mucho, Toi Jamais, Hello, Maman oh Maman, La Maritza, Vien Membrasser, Chanson Dorphee...

Kieu Nga and Ngoc Lan made up the "queens of New Wave music" couple, widely admired in the US and Vietnam in the 1980s and 1990s.

Kieu Nga once said that the two "went to shows together a lot, got along well and loved each other". While Ngoc Lan is a gentle person, Kieu Nga is very active. Kieu Nga once joked with Ngoc Lan "Come to shows with me, don't be afraid, no one can bully you".

When the famous singer Ngoc Lan passed away, Kieu Nga did not sing for a while. On the first anniversary of her friend's death, Kieu Nga went to her grave and prayed, "When my child turns 18, if I'm lucky, I will return to the stage, Ngoc Lan." Sure enough, Kieu Nga returned afterwards.

Before falling ill, Kieu Nga still performed and lived a normal life. Famous singer Kieu Nga returned to Vietnam to organize the music night Xin con goi ten nhau (2012), celebrate 30 years of singing in 2015 and the music night Chansons d'Amour - Forever love music (2017) to show gratitude to the audience.

Kieu Nga said that on her singing career, she is a lucky person, loved by many people and has the opportunity to collaborate with lovely people.
