Having been away from his hometown for more than half a century, veteran, journalist, and doctor Nguyen Xuan Lam still retains the strong imprint of a son of Ha Tinh .
Born in Cam Xuyen, the cultural roots of his homeland deeply nurtured his soul from childhood. After graduating from medical school, serving as a doctor in the Cambodian battlefield, and later as head of a department at the Naval Hospital 1-5, in 2011, veteran and doctor Nguyen Xuan Lam decided to invest in the healthcare sector. Recently, he was awarded the title of Honorary Professor by the International University of America (IAU).

With pride as a son of Ha Tinh, the birthplace of the world-renowned cultural figure and great poet Nguyen Du, Professor Dr. Nguyen Xuan Lam has dedicated his heart and soul to preserving and spreading this precious cultural heritage.
Driven by his love for the Tale of Kieu, many years ago, in his capacity as Vice President of the Vietnam Association for the Study of the Tale of Kieu (2017-2022), he became a passionate bridge connecting and spreading the values of this work to many people. Through his prestige and enthusiasm, he united people from all over the country, from erudite scientists and educators to ordinary laborers, in a shared home filled with love for the great poet Nguyen Du and the Tale of Kieu.
The love for Nguyen Du's epic poem, *Truyen Kieu*, is not limited to researchers and intellectuals; even villagers and people from all walks of life can recite it. As the Chairman of the Ha Tinh Hometown Association in Ho Chi Minh City, a line from *Truyen Kieu* showed me that I should treat it as part of my own family. Therefore, I had no reason to remain aloof. From then on, I participated in many activities of the Vietnam Association for the Study of *Truyen Kieu* in its early years.

Journalist Pham Quoc Toan, former Vice President of the Vietnam Journalists Association, shared: “I am very proud to be a son of Ha Tinh, the homeland of the great poet Nguyen Du. I always want to contribute to affirming the cultural values of the people of Nghe An and Ha Tinh. And the activities of Professor Nguyen Xuan Lam have further connected those of us who are far from home. More importantly, it's about nurturing the love for The Tale of Kieu and the love for Nguyen Du in the younger generations.”

Having withstood the test of time, The Tale of Kieu has become an integral part of the Vietnamese people's spiritual heritage. The work's enduring vitality has touched the hearts of many people in various fields: from researchers and educators to writers and journalists.
