According to GSMArena , with a total score of 154, the iPhone 15 Pro Max has secured second place in DxOMark's global smartphone camera ranking, surpassing rivals such as the Oppo Find X6 Pro and Honor Magic5 Pro.

The iPhone 15 Pro Max was the first iPhone model to feature a periscope camera.

According to DxOMark's review, the iPhone 15 Pro Max's standout feature is its portrait photography capabilities. The phone also excels at capturing fine details and providing accurate skin tones and facial exposure in a variety of lighting conditions. The updated and enhanced HDR photography not only highlights the subject but also boosts overall contrast, increasing the appeal of the image.

One of the most notable upgrades in the iPhone 15 Pro Max is the introduction of a periscope telephoto lens, which provides up to 5x optical zoom and significantly improves detail capture. This improvement puts it ahead of its predecessor in terms of zoom capabilities.

In the video field, the iPhone 15 Pro Max shines brightly. DxOMark tested the device recording video at 4K resolution, 60 frames per second, and with Dolby Vision enabled. The result was the best video performance seen to date. With a wide dynamic range, excellent exposure stability, natural color rendering, accurate autofocus, and top-notch anti-shake stability, the iPhone 15 Pro Max scored highest in the video subcategory.

Although the iPhone 15 Pro Max boasts impressive camera capabilities and secures a strong position in the DxOMark rankings, it still hasn't dethroned the Huawei P60 Pro – the smartphone currently holding the top spot with an impressive score of 156. Overall, competition in the world of smartphone cameras remains fierce, with each new release pushing the boundaries of what's possible in mobile photography.
