On November 14th, the People's Council of Can Tho City passed a Resolution stipulating tuition fees and tuition fee support from the budget for students in public, private, and semi-private schools from the 2025-2026 school year.

Accordingly, the tuition fees for public preschool and general education institutions that are not self-sufficient in covering their operating expenses are as follows: Preschool and primary school levels are 90-100 thousand VND/month/student, depending on the commune and ward; lower secondary school levels are 100-120 thousand VND/month/student; and upper secondary school levels are 120-140 thousand VND/month/student.
Tuition fees for online learning are 75% of the above-mentioned tuition fees.
The above tuition fees apply to public kindergartens and primary and secondary schools that are not yet self-sufficient in covering their operating expenses, and to students following the general education program at private and independent schools.
The above tuition fee level is determined as the basis for Can Tho to allocate budget support for students in both public and private schools from the 2025-2026 school year. Specifically, preschool and primary school students following the general education program at private and non-governmental educational institutions will receive 100% tuition fee support as stipulated above.
The total estimated expenditure for this policy is approximately 457 billion VND, of which about 19 billion VND will be used to support tuition fees for students in private and independent schools.
This policy was developed by Can Tho based on Government Decree 238/2025/ND-CP and National Assembly Resolution 217/2025/NQ-QH15 on tuition fee exemption and support.
