To commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of Southern Vietnam and the reunification of the country, designer and artisan Trung Dinh introduces a new collection titled "Youth and Peace ".
Trung Dinh shared with Tuoi Tre Online : "The overarching idea of the 'Youth and Peace' collection reflects the responsibility of young people living in peacetime to have ideals and to contribute."
Through this collection, designer Trung Dinh also wants to convey the message that young people must remember history and cherish every moment of peace they enjoy today.
The collection features designs tailored to the traditional ao dai silhouette, combined with handcrafted tailoring, painting, and embellishment techniques to enhance the value of the ao dai.
Designer Trung Dinh continues to incorporate silk into this new collection. Starting with traditional silk, he has dyed it and used ombre dyeing techniques (handcrafted color blending and transitioning techniques) to create a new material.
Red and yellow, also the colors of the national flag and the colors of victory, are the dominant colors for the "Youth and Peace" collection.
In addition, he also used shades of white, pink, and blue. The highlight of the collection is the white dove motif – a symbol of peace – which is painted and embellished to create vivid 3D designs.
"On the blue ao dai, I drew a map of Vietnam including Hoang Sa and Truong Sa. The pink ao dai represents gentleness and the dreams of the nation. And the white ao dai symbolizes the dreams and aspirations of young people in particular, and the people in general," Trung Dinh confided.

Miss Ly Kim Thao also chose a striking red design.
To date, designer and artisan Trung Dinh has lived in Ho Chi Minh City for 24 years, 20 of which he has pursued ao dai design.
He confided: "Saigon - Ho Chi Minh City is always romantic and tolerant. It opens its arms to everyone, a peaceful and tranquil place in the early morning on tree-lined streets, and dazzling with millions of lights in the evening."
"Even if I'm away for just a few days, I miss Saigon - Ho Chi Minh City and want to return. Thank you, Ho Chi Minh City, for nurturing me, providing me with work, and giving me so many opportunities for success."

Miss Ngoc Chau looks gentle and graceful in a pink ao dai (traditional Vietnamese dress).

Runner-up Hoang Nhung wore an ombre-dyed ao dai (traditional Vietnamese dress) at the historical site of the Independence Palace.
Previously, designer and artisan Trung Dinh had two ao dai (Vietnamese traditional dress) collections inspired by his love for Saigon - Ho Chi Minh City. These were the collections "Colors of the City" and "Early Morning Streets".
The collection features designs that promote the landmarks of Ho Chi Minh City. It is a dynamic, vibrant, modern city, but also very romantic and hospitable.
