After months of implementing procedures, 200,000 cubic meters of soil have now been approved for excavation to serve the construction of the expressway through Dong Nai province.

Regarding the licensing of earthworks for the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway project section passing through Dong Nai province, the Provincial People's Committee has granted permission to the contractor to excavate earthworks at one location: Tam Phuoc ward, Bien Hoa city, with a reserve of approximately 200,000 m3.

The Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway is facing a shortage of fill material.

According to the Provincial People's Committee, contractors are continuing to review other locations to request additions to the project dossier and apply for mining permits under a special mechanism.

According to calculations, the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway requires more than 5.4 million m3 of embankment soil. Of this, component project 1 needs nearly 2.3 million m3, and component project 2 needs more than 3.1 million m3.

To secure earth fill for the project's construction, the contractors reviewed and proposed three excavation sites in Bien Hoa City and Long Thanh District to the Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee.

The reservoir located in Phuoc Binh commune (Long Thanh district) covers an area of over 16 hectares with a reserve of 3.5 million cubic meters. The reservoir located in Tam Phuoc and Phuoc Tan wards of Bien Hoa city covers an area of over 15 hectares with a reserve of 1.18 million cubic meters.

Currently, only about 200,000 cubic meters of fill material have been approved for extraction to serve the expressway project.

According to Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Ha, Director of the Project Management Board for Component 2 of the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau Expressway, the expressway through Long Thanh district has basically resolved the land acquisition issue but still lacks fill soil.

Many locations have cleared land but construction is still proceeding at a slow pace. Therefore, the Project Management Board hopes that the leaders of Dong Nai province will soon approve other land locations for the exploitation of materials to serve the expressway project.

The Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway through Dong Nai province is divided into two component projects, totaling nearly 35km in length. These include component project 1 and component project 2, passing through Long Thanh district and Bien Hoa city.

In this project, component 1 is invested by the People's Committee of Dong Nai province, and component 2 is invested by Project Management Board 85.

Currently, the land for the section through Long Thanh has been largely handed over, while only about two-thirds of the land for the section through Bien Hoa has been handed over. On the construction site, workers, machinery, and equipment are focused on constructing the roadbed, overpasses, interchanges, tunnels, and embankments... The output of the contract packages ranges from 5-30%.
