HAGL players move to Thailand to play.

At the beginning of January 2025, striker Jeferson Elias joined Chanthaburi FC in Thai League 2 after leaving HAGL. On the website of the Vietnam Professional Football Joint Stock Company (VPF), Elias's name still appears on HAGL's roster. However, the team from Pleiku will soon change its foreign player.

Immediately after joining his new team, Elias shone. He scored one goal in his debut match, helping Chanthaburi win 2-1 against Kasetsart. In the next match, the striker born in 1998 provided an assist for a teammate's goal, but they lost to Police Tero. Jeferson Elias showed a completely different side compared to what he had done at HAGL. In the colors of the team from the mountainous region, Elias had neither goals nor assists after 7 matches.

This came as a surprise to many fans. Jeferson Elias had previously scored 13 goals and provided 2 assists in the V.League 2023/2024 season – the season he played for Hanoi Police FC. In the 2022/2023 season, Elias played 14 matches but did not score any goals for The Cong – Viettel .

The Brazilian player is enthusiastic and aggressive, but rarely shows the necessary sharpness in front of the opponent's goal. HAGL had a good performance in the V.League 2024/2025, but if Elias had the ability to score, coach Vu Tien Thanh's team could have achieved much more impressive results. Nevertheless, a smooth start has given Elias more confidence in Thailand. This player is young and still has plenty of time to develop into a top-class striker.

On HAGL's side, after settling the lawsuit with Martin Dzilah, they are looking for a high-quality striker to shoulder the goal-scoring burden. After Quoc Viet and Thanh Binh joined Phu Dong Ninh Binh FC in the First Division, HAGL is severely lacking in strikers.

There have been many rumors suggesting that HAGL will soon sign a contract with their former player, Washington Brandao. However, this information appears to be inaccurate. HAGL's leadership has not confirmed the transfer of the striker born in 1990.
