Starting with the performance See you again , the land of pagodas sent a message full of nostalgia to friends in the region. Although the 32nd SEA Games has ended, the country that caused "nostalgia" after this SEA Games expressed its desire to meet friends in the region again.
At the closing ceremony of the Games, the host country also “took the opportunity” to introduce unique cultural features such as the program introducing the traditional martial art Bokator. This is the first time this martial art has become an official competition at the SEA Games and is also a sport in which the host country has been very successful at the Games.

The closing ceremony was also an opportunity for the regional sports delegations to look back at their achievements at the SEA Games, with the Vietnamese Sports Delegation leading the way with 136 gold medals, 105 silver medals, and 118 bronze medals. Thailand ranked second with 108 gold medals, 96 silver medals, and 108 bronze medals.
The Organizing Committee also honored outstanding athletes at the Closing Ceremony of the Games. That was the appearance of female athlete Bou Samnang. This Cambodian athlete only finished last in the 5,000m race, but she became the star of the Games with the emotional image of crying and trying to run alone in the pouring rain to reach the finish line.
Special art performances at the closing ceremony
Outstanding athletes at this SEA Games were also honored at the closing ceremony. Female athletes Quah Ting Wen (Singapore) and Pal Chhor Raksmy (Cambodia) were honored. Ting Wen is the athlete who won the most gold medals at the SEA Games with six times reaching the highest position, including four gold medals in the individual swimming event. Raksmy is the host athlete who won the most gold medals with four medals in the Vovinam performance event.
At the closing ceremony, the host country of the 32nd SEA Games, Cambodia, also handed over the flag to the host country of the next Games, Thailand. Accordingly, the 33rd SEA Games will take place in December 2025 in 3 cities of Thailand, including Bangkok, Chonburi and Songkhla.

The 32nd SEA Games is a regional sporting event hosted by Cambodia for the first time, attracting more than 12,400 members of sports delegations from 10 member countries of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and Timor Leste to compete in 37 sports with 581 events.
With the slogan "Sports - Living in peace ," SEA Games 32 has truly brought satisfaction to most guests in the first time the country of pagodas hosted the SEA Games.
