The heatwave sweeping across Western Europe is forecast to intensify this week, causing dangerously hot and humid conditions with record temperatures in France, the UK, Spain, and Germany. This heatwave is developing under the influence of a high-pressure dome and is further affected by the developing El Niño phenomenon.

Forecasts indicate that unusually high temperatures will persist until the end of July. Accordingly, Europe – the region with the fastest warming rate in the world – is undergoing the first test of this summer.
