The film Red Rain , directed by Meritorious Artist Dang Thai Huyen, is considered an important milestone in modern Vietnamese cinema when it exploits the theme of revolutionary war with a new, emotional cinematic language. The film recreates 81 days and nights of fierce fighting to protect Quang Tri Citadel in 1972, one of the fiercest battles in the resistance war against the US.

Not stopping at depicting the tragic history, Red Rain also evokes deep emotions about patriotism, the spirit of sacrifice and the desire for peace . The image of the young soldier in the fire of Quang Tri, both resilient and full of humanity, moved millions of viewers to tears when the film was released.

Released on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day, September 2, the film set a record for the highest revenue in the history of Vietnamese cinema, becoming a rare phenomenon in the war film genre.

It is known that, along with Red Rain, the film week celebrating the 24th Vietnam Film Festival also introduces 18 typical Vietnamese cinematographic works from many periods such as Peach, Pho and Piano, The Scent of Burning Grass, The Returner, The Legend of Quan Tien, Parallel 17 Days and Nights, Hanoi 12 Days and Nights, I See Yellow Flowers on the Green Grass, The Ringed Bird, August Stars...

This event is not only a meaningful cultural and artistic activity but also a tribute to the generations of fathers and brothers who sacrificed for national independence. Through this, cinema becomes a bridge between the past and the present, helping viewers - especially the young generation - to better understand history and the value of peace and freedom today.
