Tet Market "Spring Colors of Thanh Nam"

On February 23rd, at the Ninh Binh Museum - Branch 2, Nam Dinh Ward, the Department of Culture and Sports organized the opening of the Tet market space "Spring Colors of Thanh Nam" for the Year of the Horse 2026.

Attending the opening ceremony were Comrade Tran Dang An, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ninh Binh province; Comrade Khuc Manh Kien, Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Deputy Head of the Provincial Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department; and Comrade Vu Thanh Lich, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture and Sports .

The "Spring Colors of Thanh Nam" Tet Market is one of the typical cultural activities of the Department of Culture and Sports to celebrate the 96th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam (February 3, 1930 – February 3, 2026), to celebrate the success of the 14th National Congress of the Party, and to welcome the Year of the Horse 2026, while also contributing to the preservation and promotion of the cultural heritage values ​​of the homeland. The event recreates the atmosphere of Tet in the past along with traditional folk cultural activities, not only evoking memories but also contributing to preserving and spreading the good customs and traditions of our ancestors; at the same time, it nurtures the spiritual foundation and creates cultural depth for the sustainable development of the province in the context of integration.

The event featured a variety of activities. In the exhibition space, the Organizing Committee showcased the province's typical cultural heritage; recreated the scene of the Nam Dinh Imperial Examination Hall; displayed artistic bonsai trees and orchids; organized a classical poetry competition; and introduced the Lat Son complex of historical sites and scenic spots.

The spring antique exchange event, themed "Antique Market," created a highlight, attracting the attention of collectors and the public. In addition, performances of intangible cultural heritage such as water puppetry, Xam singing, Ca Tru singing, Chau Van singing; lion, dragon, and unicorn dances; martial arts demonstrations, Boi chess competitions, and artistic exchanges; along with folk games, created a vibrant atmosphere rich in traditional identity.

The food and OCOP product space recreates the image of a rural market with typical dishes such as pho, Kênh village rice rolls, Sìu candy… along with many typical local products. In addition, visitors can also visit the museum exhibition, experience the "Vietnamese Kitchen Space" and visit the historical and cultural relic of the Nam Định Flagpole.

Within the framework of the program, the Department of Culture and Sports awarded certificates to collectives and individuals who made significant contributions to organizing Tet Market activities. At the same time, representatives of the Nam Dinh Antiquities Association and the UNESCO Club for Research and Collection of Vietnamese Antiquities in Nam Dinh donated many valuable artifacts to the Provincial Museum, contributing to enriching the collection of documents and artifacts for exhibition, research, and promotion of cultural heritage values.

Comrade Vu Thanh Lich, Deputy Director of the Department, presented certificates to units and individuals who contributed to the event.

Through the Tet market space, Ninh Binh province aims to raise social awareness of the fundamental role of culture in the development process. Preserving, nurturing, and promoting traditional values ​​is seen as an investment in the future, creating a solid spiritual foundation so that each spring is not only a milestone in time, but also a record of new advancements in the material and spiritual life of the community.

The Tet market "Spring Colors of Thanh Nam" will run until February 25, 2026.
