Over the years, with the province's investment and attention, programs and projects on population, nutrition, and maternal and child health care have been widely implemented, gradually creating positive changes in protecting and improving the physical and mental health of children. According to specialized data, child malnutrition, especially stunting, is gradually being controlled; primary healthcare, expanded immunization, and prenatal and neonatal screening are increasingly emphasized, contributing to improving the quality of the population from the early stages of life.
The health sector plays a core role in child healthcare, from prevention to treatment. The primary healthcare system has been strengthened, and the maternal and child healthcare network is effectively maintained, ensuring that children receive regular growth and development monitoring, nutritional counseling, and early disease prevention. Communication activities on breastfeeding, appropriate complementary feeding, and prevention of micronutrient deficiencies are regularly implemented, contributing to raising awareness and changing childcare behaviors in families. Notably, in August 2025, the Department of Health played a leading role in implementing the EM-THRIVE Project in Quang Ninh to promote the holistic development of children through enhancing positive parenting skills and early child healthcare. The project, funded by The Human Safety Net Vietnam, is integrated into the expanded immunization program at primary health stations, enabling early access to families with young children. The Quang Ninh Health Department has organized training and supervised implementation, aiming to improve the capacity of grassroots healthcare and enhance the health, nutrition, and holistic development of children in the province.

Simultaneously, population work continues to affirm its crucial role in the sustainable care and protection of children. Programs aimed at improving population quality, reducing gender imbalance at birth, pre-marital counseling, and prenatal and neonatal screening not only target immediate goals but also create a long-term foundation for the comprehensive development of future generations. Integrating child care content into population activities has helped to reach more widely individual households and couples, especially in mountainous areas and ethnic minority regions.
The education sector plays a crucial role in protecting children both physically and mentally. Schools are not only learning environments but also centers for teaching life skills, self-protection skills, nutrition, health, and prevention of abuse and school violence. The collaboration between schools, school health services, families, and other organizations contributes to building a safe, healthy, and child-friendly educational environment.
Notably, the Women's Union at all levels has played a crucial "bridging" role in the care and protection of children. Through models of happy families, raising healthy children and teaching them good manners, and through clubs and community communication groups, the Women's Union has brought knowledge about nutrition, healthcare, and child protection closer to mothers, especially pregnant women and women in disadvantaged areas.
It is evident that the effectiveness of child care and protection in Quang Ninh stems from increasingly close inter-sectoral coordination. From communication and nutritional counseling to healthcare and protecting children from abuse and injuries, all efforts are directed towards the common goal of ensuring children's right to life, care, and comprehensive development.
