In early December, while the people of Dak Lak were still reeling from the devastating floods, 14 technicians from the Quang Tri Refrigeration Association traveled over 100 kilometers, bringing a truckload of spare parts and repair tools to Tuy Hoa ward, one of the hardest-hit areas in Dak Lak. They arrived not as a relief team, but as returning family members, bringing with them skilled hands and warm hearts for the flood victims.
On the mud-strewn roads, the men fanned out to each house, informing residents to bring their waterlogged appliances to a designated repair point. Then, they dismantled washing machines and refrigerators clogged with mud, replacing damaged parts caused by the flood. All repairs, maintenance, and replacements were completely free, covering appliances such as refrigerators, washing machines, evaporative coolers, water filters, and a wide range of other household items.
Over five days (from December 1-5, 2025), undeterred by the weather or fatigue, the team of technicians worked tirelessly. The fact that more than 1,000 products were repaired, maintained, and had their components replaced free of charge speaks volumes about the extraordinary efforts of the team.
Mr. Tran Thanh Long, Chairman of the Quang Tri Refrigeration Association, said: “This trip was decided very quickly, almost immediately after the floodwaters receded. We called each other through a Zalo group, and within a few hours, 14 members volunteered. Everyone arranged their work, some even canceled scheduled repairs for customers to go. As refrigeration technicians, we understand the importance of these devices in people's lives. The loss of property is already significant; if people have to bear additional repair costs, it will only make things more difficult for them. We simply thought of using our expertise to help people overcome this disaster. Each device ‘revived,’ each smile of the people, is the greatest joy for us.”

The Quang Tri Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Association was established in 2019. To date, the association has gathered more than 300 members from many localities in the province. This is not the first time the association has demonstrated its proactive spirit for the community. Previously, on November 1, 2025, the association promptly went to Hue to help repair household items for people in flood-affected areas for two days, repairing more than 800 items.
Mr. Le Huu An, one of the key members who participated in both flood relief efforts in Hue and Dak Lak, shared: “Both places left me with unforgettable memories. In Hue, the flooding was deep and prolonged; in Dak Lak, the damage was unexpected and severe. But what we clearly felt was the warmth of the people's hearts. The hugs, handshakes, and sincere words of gratitude were the greatest source of energy for us to continue working, despite fatigue and hardship.”
Despite the hardships, the joy derived from the genuine kindness of the flood victims helped the team overcome their fatigue. The quick meals eaten in the rain, the hot cups of tea offered, and the heartfelt, warm words of gratitude gave them the motivation to complete their work. No one in the team sought recognition; they only hoped to contribute a small part to help the people recover after the natural disaster.
The value of the trip extends beyond just repairing 800 or 1,000 items. More importantly, it's the invaluable emotional support that the flood victims received. Amidst overwhelming difficulties, the presence of the Quang Tri Refrigeration Association clearly demonstrates the spirit of solidarity and mutual support. The association's activities have been highly appreciated by the local government and social organizations.
Ms. Doan Thi Kim Loan, Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Tuy Hoa Ward, emphasized: “The support from the Quang Tri Refrigeration Association is an extremely meaningful and timely action. They approach the people with understanding and responsibility. The free repair of refrigeration and household appliances helps reduce the financial burden on people after the floods, helping them quickly stabilize their lives and daily activities. This is a very valuable act of sharing, clearly demonstrating the connecting and spreading of love by associations and organizations in relief efforts.”
The Quang Tri Refrigeration Association's trip to Dak Lak has ended, but their charitable journey doesn't stop there. They returned with farewell hugs and promises to meet again, carrying with them touching stories and memories of human kindness. The association's "flood relief" journey was not only a charitable act but also a strong affirmation of the passion for their profession and the burning compassion in the hearts of every son and daughter of the kind-hearted land of Quang Tri. When asked if they wanted to continue such support trips, the President of the Quang Tri Refrigeration Association, Tran Thanh Long, immediately replied: "If the people still need help, we will definitely go again. This is not just a responsibility, but a matter of sentiment."
