According to CNN , the plaintiffs allege that the fast-food chain specializing in Mexican cuisine underestimated customer dissatisfaction.

The shareholder cited the widespread online backlash against Chipotle that began in the spring and summer of 2024, which included celebrities complaining about the "highly inconsistent" sizes of the dishes.

The plaintiffs allege that the defendants' misconduct and the sharp drop in the company's stock price caused significant losses to shareholders. The plaintiffs are seeking undisclosed compensation and that all individuals who bought or sold Chipotle stock between February 8th and October 29th should be compensated. Chipotle has not commented on the lawsuit.
