An opportunity awaits the Vietnam U19 women's team.

This is the fourth consecutive time that the young Vietnamese women's team has reached the final match of the regional tournament.

At 6:30 PM today (June 18th), the Vietnam U19 women's team and Thailand will face off in the final of the 2025 Southeast Asian U19 Women's Championship, held at Thong Nhat Stadium (Ho Chi Minh City).

This is the fourth consecutive time that the young Vietnamese women's team has reached the final match of the regional tournament. However, the championship trophy remains an unfulfilled dream, as the Vietnamese U19 women's team previously lost to Thailand in 2014 and 2023, and to Australia in 2022.

The Vietnamese U19 women's team is aiming for the Southeast Asian championship title.

This year's Vietnam U19 women's team still includes three players who participated in the 2023 final: goalkeeper Le Thi Thu, midfielder Le Thi Trang, and forward and captain Luu Hoang Van. Hoang Van continues to show consistent and sharp form, leading the scoring charts with 5 goals.

This year's Southeast Asian U19 Women's Championship is seen as an important stepping stone for young players aiming for continental competitions. After the tournament, outstanding players from the Vietnamese U19 women's team will be called up by coach Masahiko to the Vietnamese U20 women's team to prepare for the 2026 U20 Asian Championship qualifiers, scheduled to take place in early August in Hanoi .
