Germany's 'tank' continues its unbeaten run.

Báo Thanh niênBáo Thanh niên18/11/2024

Germany had already secured their place in the quarter-finals during the October training camp, but needed to win against Bosnia & Herzegovina to guarantee first place in their group, thus avoiding the possibility of facing other group winners in the quarter-finals, including Portugal and Spain. Therefore, against an opponent ranked 63 places lower and with home advantage, Germany dominated the game, controlling possession for 73%, taking 23 shots with 13 on target – compared to Bosnia & Herzegovina's 7 and 3 respectively. Of those 13 shots on target, Germany scored 7 goals. This victory gives the "Die Mannschaft" the biggest win in this year's UEFA Nations League, surpassing their previous record of 5-0 against Hungary.

Coach Nagelsmann's team secured a place in the quarter-finals by finishing first in Group 3 of League A with 13 points. In their final match, Germany will travel to Hungary on November 20th.

Also in this group, the Netherlands team easily defeated Hungary (4-0) to move up to second place with 8 points. With a 3-point lead over Hungary and a superior goal difference (+6 compared to -7), coach Ronald Koeman's team also secured a place in the quarter-finals. Notably, the match at the Amsterdam Arena (Netherlands) had to be temporarily suspended for nearly 10 minutes after the Hungarian assistant coach Adam Szalai experienced health problems.

Seven teams have already advanced from the group stage: Spain, Portugal, Germany (first place); Netherlands, Croatia (second place); France, Italy (positions yet to be determined). On November 22nd, UEFA will draw the quarter-final pairings.
